Source of Information:
It is the best source of a variety of
information. Now even students of
colleges and universities mainly
depend on it to complete not only
their assignments but also to keep
themselves up-to-date. There is no
better source of research other than
the internet. We can find the latest
trends, we can talk to specialists
without actually visiting them, and we
can also get professional assistance
through the internet.
Source of Entertainment: Online
games, chatting, surfing, music,
movies, dramas, and TV shows are
becoming the most common
sources of entertainment.
DISADVANTAGE
A Waste of Time:
Most people argue that spending a
lot of time using the internet is bad
which leads to obesity in the young
generation.
Not Safe Place for Children: If
children are allowed to use the
internet then parents become
worried if they are spending
much time on the internet.
Privacy Exposure:
Because of the hacker's community
now it’s very easy to decipher
someone’s chat or email messages.
As we know data is transmitted in
the form of packets, hackers sniff
that packets and easily reconstruct.

Keep Informed: Online Threatening or Harassment:

Internet is a source of the newest
news because there are hundreds
and thousands of news-groups and
services which keep you informed
with every tick of the clock.
If someone manages to get your
personal IDs or email address then it
becomes easier to harass in chat
rooms, online messages, and through
emails.

Online Shopping:
Internet shopping is becoming
popular because of virtual shops
where you can buy anything you
want and need without going out of
the home. Virtual shops are earning
much money recently.

2. What is the difference between intranet and extranet?

Answer: an intranet is used for establishing communication among internal employees, used in
telephone directories, and many more. An extranet is used for sending emails, accessing data,
checking the status of various orders, and many more. It is highly secure in nature.

1. Computer network
Answer:  computer network is a set of computers sharing resources located on or provided
by network nodes. The computers use common communication
protocols over digital interconnections to communicate with each other. These interconnections
 are made up of telecommunication network technologies, based on physically wired, optical, and
wireless radio-frequency methods that may be arranged in a variety of  network topologies.
2. Local Area Network
Answer:  local area network is a computer network that interconnects computers within a limited
area such as a residence, school, laboratory, university campus or office building. By contrast, a
wide area network not only covers a larger geographic distance, but also generally involves leased
telecommunication circuits.
3. Wide Area Network
Answer: A wide area network (also known as WAN), is a large network of information that is not tied
to a single location. WANs can facilitate communication, the sharing of information and much more
between devices from around the world through a WAN provider.
4. Metropolitan Area Network.

Answer: Network topology is the arrangement of the elements of a communication network.
Network topology can be used to define or describe the arrangement of various types of
telecommunication networks, including command and control radio networks, industrial
fieldbusses and computer networks.

1. Differentiate the 4 types of computer networks. Provide an example.
Ans: The vital computer network is divided into four types based on their size and functions. They
are LAN, MAN, PAN, and WAN. Here LAN stands for Local Area Network, MAN stands for
Metropolitan Area Network, Personal Area Network is abbreviated into PAN whereas WAN is expanded
as Wide Area Network.
