COURSES OF BIOPSYCHOLOGY:

1) Behavioral sciences
Behavioral sciences explore the cognitive
processes within organisms and the behavioral interactions
between organisms in the natural world.
2) Neuropsychology
Neuropsychology is the study and characterization
of the behavioral modifications that follow a neurological
trauma or condition. It is an both experimental and clinical
field of psychology that aims to understand how behaviour
and cognition are influenced by brain functioning and is
concerned with the diagnosis and treatment of behavioral
and cognitive effects of neurological disorders.
3) Genetics
Genetics is the branch of biology concerned with
the study of genes, genetic variation and heredity in
organisms.
4) Anatomy
Anatomy is the scientific study of structure of
organisms including their systems, organs and tissues. It
includes the appearance and position of the various parts,
the materials which they are composed, their locations and
their relationships with other parts.
5) Developmental psychobiology
It is an interdisciplinary field; the field covers all
phases of ontogeny, with particular emphasis on prenatal,
perinatal and early childhood development. One of the
goals of developmental psychobiology is to explain the
physical development of the nervous system and how that
affects the individual’s development in long term.
6) Neuroscience
Neuroscience or neurobiology is the scientific study
of the nervous system. It is a multidisciplinary branch of
biology to understand the fundamental and emergent
properties of neurons and neural circuits.
7) Physiological psychology
It is a subdivision of behavioral neuroscience that
studies the neural mechanisms of perception and behavior
through direct manipulation of the brains of nonhuman
animal subjects in controlled experiments.
8) Comparative psychology
It refers to the scientific study of the behavior and
mental processes of non-human animals, especially as
these relate to the phylogenetic history, adaptive
significance and development of behavior.
9) Cognitive neuroscience
Cognitive neuroscience is the scientific field that is
concerned with the study of the biological processes and
aspects that underlie cognition, with a specific focus on
neural connections in the brain which are involved in
mental processes.
10) Personality psychology
Personality psychology is a branch of psychology
that studies personality and its variation among
individuals. It is a scientific study which aims to show how
people are individually due to psychological forces.
11) Psychometrics and quantitative psychology
It is a field of scientific study that focuses on the
mathematical modeling, research design and methodology,
and statistical analysis of human or animal psychological
processes. It includes tests and other devices for measuring
human abilities. Psychometrics, a field concerned with the
theory and technique of psychological measurement.
12) Medical psychology
Medical psychology is the application of
psychological principles to the practice of medicine, and is
clearly comprehensive rather than primarily drug-oriented,
for both physical and mental disorders.
