Lower Floor

Trophy Room
• Accessed from the Great Hall
• Held many awards, trophies, medals, statues etc. Crystall glass displays. List of Head Boys and
Head Girls.
• Triwizard Cup placed here as well.
Kitchen Corridor
• This corridor is located on the basement level, and leads to the Kitchens and the Hufflepuff
Common Room. It could be accessed via the Entrance Hall, through the door on the left-hand
side of the Marble Staircase (when one was coming down the stairs and facing the great oak
doors leading outside).
Hufflepuff Common Room
• The entrance to the common room is located "in a nook on the right hand side of the kitchen
corridor"

Dungeons

Dungeon Corridor
• Leads from the Dungeon Staircase into the various rooms

Slytherin Common Room


• Sported lamps and chairs of shades of green everywhere, cold and dark
• Portraits of serpents and of various wizards
• The entrance looks like a bare stone wall, a password opens it.
• Low backed black and dark green button-tufted, leather sofas; skulls; and dark wood
cupboards. It is decorated with tapestries featuring the adventures of famous Medieval
Slytherins.
Potion's Classroom Office ?
The office was a gloomy and dimly-lit room found in the school dungeons. The shadowy walls were lined with
shelves of large glass jars filled with slimy, revolting things, such as bits of animals and plants, floating in potions of varying colours. The office

had a fireplace.In a corner, there was a cupboard containing Snape's private stock of potions ingredients. The office also contained
a table.
Duelling Room
• A dueling room has been set up in the dungeons of Hogwarts, where the Dueling Club meets
once a month.
Potions Classroom
• It was large enough to allow at least twenty students to work and its walls were lined with
pickled animals in glass jars. In one corner of the room stood a basin into which ice-cold water
poured from a gargoyle's mouth, while in another was a student supply cupboard. There was
also a blackboard. Room was especially cold, especially in the winter.

Ground Floor

Entrance Hall:
- Double doors to the right led into the Great Hall.
• The basement, kitchens, dungeons and Grand Staircase are accessible via the Entrance Hall.
• The Caretaker's Office is connected as well. Small windowless room with a single oil lamp in
the ceiling. Smells of fried fish. here are filing cabinets in it with details of the misdeeds of
Hogwarts students. Fred and George Weasley have an entire drawer for their own misdeeds. One
of those cabinets was full of confiscated magic items marked "Confiscated and Highly Dangerous".
Grand Staircase:
• a massive structure in Hogwarts Castle, mainly used to access each floor of the castle,
including the dungeons. There were hundreds of Portraits covering the walls in this tower,
some of which concealed secret passages to other areas within the school. The multiple
staircases in the Grand Staircase led from platform to platform and went as high as the
seventh floor where they came to an end.
Chamber of Reception:
• Little building before the Entrance Hall where first year students waitbeofre the Sorting
ceremony.

Viaduct Courtyard:
• Located off the Entrance Hall.

Great Hall:
• Receive owl posts, eat meals, host special events. Tall walls that reach up to the ceiling,
enchanted to look like the sky above.
Staffroom:
• Long panelled room with mismatched, dark wooden chairs. There was a wardrobe inside
which was once home to a Boggart. Entrance guarded by two talking stone gargoyles.

Transfiguration Courtyard:
• Grassy open area with a large overgrown tree inside. Hangout spot.
• Connected to the Transfiguration Department, a wing containing rooms dedicated to
teaching Transfiguration.
• Transfiguration Classroom is big, surrounded by windows, with four rows of three large
desks, full of cages, bookshelves, and a desk with two chalkboards at the front.
Classroom Eleven:
• Used by Firenze for Divination. Looks like the Forbidden Forest.
Viaduct Entrance:
• Big chamber (vestibule), high ceiling and windows, large stone staircase leading towards the
Transfiguration Courtyard. Also contains the spiraling Potions staircase, to the Dungeon
Corridor.
Viaduct:
• Stone bridge connecting the 'Entrance Courtyard' entrance to the Viaduct Towers
The Quad:
• Courtyard connecting the Viaduct and the Boathouse
• Four towers were located at either corner of this courtyard: The Grand Staircase Tower,
Gryffindor Tower, North Tower and Stone Bridge Tower; and the Hospital tower and
Suspension Bridge Towers were located in the middle of two different sides
Training Grounds Entrance:
• Small building beside the tower It contained double doors leading out onto a path that went
past the Training Grounds Tower and into the Training Grounds. A corridor led from this small
entrance room. It went past the Defence Against the Dark Arts tower and out onto the Suspension
Bridge.

First Floor

Defense Against the Dark Arts Clasroom


• Iron chandelier hung from the ceiling, as well as a Dragon's skeleton. Projector on one end.
Several desks and tables, large set of windows. Small staircase leading up to the DATDA office
History of Magic Classroom
• Not decorated room, dimly lit, filled with small desks, a single desk and chalkboard sit at the
end of the room, with a small dusty bookshelf.
Stone Bridge
• Next to the Suspension Bridge. Connects the main first floor corridor and the Tapestry
Corridor in the Viaduct Entrance (?)
Tapestry Corridor
• Connects the Viaduct entrance to the main first floor
• Walls are covered in tapestries and portraits of Wizards.
Potions Storeroom
• In the Tapestry Corridor, storage of potion ingridients (private/personal storeroom for
Potion's teacher)
Girl's Lavatory
• Small girls bathroom with stalls painted green.

Second Floor

Second Floor Corridor


• Located on both sides of the castle on the Second Floor.
• Lined with bookcases, suits of armor and has a small seating area
• Statue of Helena Ravenclaw at the end
• A small narrow staircase leading to the ground floor
Defence Against the Dark Arts – Professor's Office
• Small office connected to the DATDA classroom, decorated in maroon, brown and gold, with a
small ornate mirror, a few personal photographs hung about, and a large document framed
beside the doorway facing the dark brown wooden teachers desk.
Entrance to the Headmaster's Tower
• In the Gargoyle Corridor, around the corner for the Second Floor Corridor. It is reached by
means of a circular, moving stone staircase, which in turn is concealed by a gargoyle on the
third floor. The gargoyle will step aside in response to a password, though the headmaster is
capable of overriding the password if, for any reason, he or she desires that it will not work.
Moaning Myrtle's Bathroom
• Lead's to the Chamber of Secrets through the circular set of sinks in the middle of the second
area

Third Floor

Third Floor Corridor


• Dimly lit stone corridor leading to an entrance that leads towards the Underground Chambers
(7 chambers that lead to the Philosphers Stone chamber which contains the mirror of Erised)
Armoury
• Adjacent to the Trophy Room, many suits of armor on exhibition in the Corridor
Charms Corridor
• Small corrdiro leading to 2 separate Charm's classrooms;
• Four long, large desks that were built like stairs on both sides of the classroom. Large fireplace
in the room, several stacks of books.
Clock Tower Entrance
• One of 3 main entrances of Hogwarts. Large open space at the base of the Clock Tower.
• Large window opposite the main entrance.
• The massive pendulum, of the clock swings over the entrance
Hogwarts Library
• Overseen by Madam Irma Pince
• Invisibilty Section, Dragon Section, Reference Section, Legal Section, Poetry Section and
Restricted Section
• Tens of thousands of books, many tables in the main area and along the walls besides the rows
of books
Trophy Room
• Held many awards, trophies, medals, statues etc. Crystall glass displays. List of Head Boys and
Head Girls.

Fourth Floor

Fourth Floor Corridor


• Accessible from the Study Area, leads towards a balcony and allows travel between the West
Tower and the Gryffindor Tower
• Leads to the Fourth Floor Balcony of the Clock Tower
Defense Against the Dark Arts Clasroom
• Iron chandelier hung from the ceiling, as well as a Dragon's skeleton. Projector on one end.
Several desks and tables, large set of windows. Small staircase leading up to the DATDA office
Hospital Wing
• Double doored entrance. Many rows of beds with white sheets, privacy screens and bedpans.
White stone walls with windows above every bed.
Hogwarts Library (2nd floor)
• Upper section of the Hogwarts Library (home of the restricted section. Students must present
signed note from a professor to gain access. The books within the Restricted Section typically
discussed the Dark Arts or other information not for the general public or young children
Study Area
• This study area was a library on the fourth floor of Hogwarts Castle, located near Classroom
4F. There was a secret passageway hidden behind a bookshelf which led to the Seventh-floor
corridor, just opposite a portrait of Sir Cadogan. There was a large fireplace, and a door
leading to the Fourth Floor Corridor.
Large Storage Room
• Large empty room used to store things.
Boy's Bathroom
• Small bathroom

• Goes around the Quad
• Begins in the Grand Staircase Tower
• Leads to the Fifth Floor Balcony of the Clock Tower
Defence Against the Dark Arts – Professor's Office

Sixth Floor Corridor


• Professor's office
• Connected to a staircase leading to the North Floor
East Wing
• Large hall with huge fireplace in the centre of the room and some portraits.
Boy's Lavatory
• Large stone lavatory with stone columns and large windows
Study of Ancient Runes Classroom
• Includes some desks, a bookcase and a lectern for the professor
Office
• Large roomy office with a fireplace and two large sofas, round dinner table and access to a
private balcony.

Seventh Floor

Ravenclaw Head's Office


• Contains portraits, a desk and sleeping quarters.
Room of Requirement
• Secret room that only appeared when a person was in great need of it. The room transformed
itself into whatever the witch or wizard needed it to be at that moment.
Fat Lady's Corridor
• Contains the portrait of the Fat Lady that serves as the entrance to the Gryffindor Tower.
North Wing
• This wing had hundreds of bookshelves lined along the walls and various tables and furniture
placed around the room. It served the Castle as a reading room and study hall.
Divination Classroom
• In the North Tower described as looking like a cross between somebody's attic and an old-
fashioned teashop. The Divination Staircase led to this classroom.
Ravenclaw Tower
• Entrance located on the west side of Hogwarts at the top of a spiral staircase on the fifth floor.
Must answer a riddle asked by an eagle knocker on the door.

Clock Tower

• Begins at the third floor, on the top of a hill.


• Huge space at the landing
• Goes up to the 4th and 5th floors
• 5th floor corridor leading to the main castle
• Leads to the Wooden Bridge which connects to the Stone Circle. Stone Circle then connects to
the Owlery and Hagrid's Hut
• a circle of giant stones within the grounds of Hogwarts just outside of the Wooden Bridge. The
stones form a sundial.

West Tower

- Also known as the Owlery Tower


- At the top of the tower is the Owlery, a circular stone room which is cold and drafty due to
the glassless windows.
- It also overlooks a courtyard
