Aloe vera

Aloe vera is a medicinal plant, traditionally used to improve skin integrity. Aloe vera is known for
its anti-inflammatory, skin protection, anti-bacterial, anti-viral, antiseptic, and wound
healing properties.

 Historically, aloe has been used for skin conditions and was thought to improve
baldness and promote wound healing.
 Aloe is used topically (applied to the skin) and orally. Topical use of aloe is
promoted for acne, lichen planus (a very itchy rash on the skin or in the mouth),
oral submucous fibrosis, burning mouth syndrome, burns, and radiation-induced
skin toxicity. Oral use of aloe is promoted for weight loss, diabetes, hepatitis, and
inflammatory bowel disease (a group of conditions caused by gut inflammation
that includes Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis).

Chamaecostus cuspidatus
The leaf of the plant helps in producing insulin. It controls the blood sugar levels in the body.
The insulin plant is a remarkable Ayurvedic medicine used to treat diabetes in a natural way.
commonly known as fiery costus, Step ladder Spiral flag, or Insulin plant,
is native to South and Central America. This is a recent introduction to
India from America as an herbal cure for diabetes and hence commonly
called an ‘insulin plant.’[1] It is widely grown in gardens as an
ornamental plant in South India and also run wild in many places.[2] It is
used in India to control diabetes, and it is known that diabetic people eat
one leaf daily to keep their blood glucose low.[3] Leaves were one of the
plants known to be effectively used for treating diabetes by the tribal
people. In Mexican folk medicine, used as an infusion in the treatment of
renal disorders.
