What is Critique?
- A critique is a genre of academic writing
that briefly summarize and critically
evaluates a work or concept.
- A critique is used to carefully analyze a
variety of works.
Critique can be used to evaluates:
1. Creative works- novels, exhibit,
films, shows, images, poetry;
2. Researches- monographs, journals,
articles, systematic review,
theories;
3. Media- news reports, feature
articles.
Criticize
To judge or to evaluate someone or
something.

Critique
The paper or essay.
The product of criticizing.
Critic
The person doing the criticism.

1. Systematic and detailed assessment
of the work by focusing on single
aspect/area.
2. Describe the structure of the work.
3. Determine bias/weaknesses of the
work.
4. Come up with your own argument.
Conclusion
1. Write your overall interpretation.
2. Summary of your key evaluation and
how did you come-up with that
critique.
