Trujillo “La ciudad de la eterna primavera” is a beautiful city in
the north of Peru. Here, you can visit very special places like
Huanchaco Beach, Chan-Chan or Huaca del Sol y la Luna and
you can also try a delicious tipical dishes, for example:
SHAMBAR
"Shambar" is a soup that blends many ingredients, tastes,
and is considered the most traditional meal in Trujillo's
gastronomy in Perú on Mondays. It's made of wheat
grains, fava beans, green peas, chickpeas and dry beans.
It must have three kinds of meat. The seasoning it's done
with a blend of garlic, black pepper, cumin, purple chilli
pepper, yellow chilli pepper, parsley and vegetable oil.
The dish it's appreciated for its variety of flavours
originating from the spices and meats, and peculiar texture
rendered by the mixture of legumes.
PICARONES
"Picarones" are typical dessert in the North of Peru.
It is similar to buñuelos and the principal ingredients
are squash and sweet potato. It is served in a
doughnut form and covered with syrup, made from
"chancaca" And sometimes It is traditional to serve
"picarones" when people prepare "anticuchos",,
another traditional Peruvian dish.
