THE POWER OF LISTENING

By William Ury
He Discuss about the power of listening, I understand how important to listen on someone because
when you do they will also listen to you. He talk about the three important reason why is it important to
listen in a negotiation or conflict, the first he said it helps to understand the other side the second it
helps us connect to the person because it builds trust that means we care about what he/she’s talking
about and the third one it helps us to get a yes, communication is the key in a negotiation he added.
Listening is something that needs to be learned that we should practice every day. And we should listen
not only in words but also behind that word which is the emotion, the feelings and needs or that he/she
really wants. And we should first listen to our selves first to have a good conversation to others, take
time to analyze what’s going on in your surroundings paying attention to our feelings and to let it go.
And I learned that listening on someone is important to prevent conflict and one of the biggest gift that
you can give to anyone is to being heard. It transform relationship and a nation for the better. _
