Internal Communication:

First of all, if we talk about the internal communication. there is a board of directors, and they are
heading the committees like Audit Committee, Shares Transfer Committee, Human Resources &
Remuneration Committee, and the Executive Committee of the Board (ExCo) which is the central
working nucleus of the organization. the ExCo which consists of Executive Directors and Heads of
Departments of the company drives to achieve the strategic targets set by the Board of Directors.

These than forward their policies to different regions across Pakistan.

External Communication:
Companies like PTC need to communicate externally to show that they also have a huge focus on
their corporate social responsivities to get fame in the market. They try to communicate with the
government to help economically and create job opportunities and communicate to the consumer that
they focus a lot on the CSR as well. They also work with TFP which is nonprofit organization with the
mission to create leadership to end educational poverty or like signing a MoU with NRSP which
formalizes their partnership on some of the key sustainability areas like afforestation or biodiversity
conservation.

Products and Services

As we discussed earlier PTC is a subsidiary of BAT and they are experts in the production and distribution
of tobacco and nicotine products all over the world. As it is an internationally based company, so it
operates in almost every part of the world making it the largest tobacco company in the world based on
net sales.

In recent years, the Group’s share of the cigarette market has grown consistently, largely driven by five
global brands – Dunhill, Kent, Lucky Strike, Pall Mall and Rothmans.

In Pakistan, most of the cigarette brands you see are owned by PTC. Its brands include Dunhill, Benson
and Hedges, John Player Gold Leaf, Capstan by Pall Mall, Gold Flake, and Embassy.

The Group’s purpose is to build A Better Tomorrow™ by reducing the health impact of its business
through offering a greater choice of enjoyable and less risky products for our consumers. The main core
of the business will still be cigarettes, but it also looks forward to get more revenue from products that
suits different moods and emotions of the consumers and are more healthier than cigarettes. This will
reduce the overall health and environmental impacts of the business, create a dynamic and purposeful
place to work for employees, and for shareholders deliver sustainable superior returns.

Competitors
As we are moving towards a more modern and innovative world, people are changing their lifestyles and
trying to live a healthier life. Keeping this in mind, many companies are looking to make less harmful yet
effective substitutes to cigarettes and tobacco products.

Pyxus International - Pyxus International is a company which experts in manufacturing of E-Cigarettes

and E-Liquids. These products are the main competitors of PTC and BAT as it is proven that the use of E-
Cigarettes is less harmful then using regular cigarettes. Many people are moving from cigarettes to
vaping because of this.

Niconovum - Another competitor is Niconovum Company which is a manufacturer or nicotine

replacement therapy (NRT) products. NRT products are used to get rid of nicotine dependance and
smoking addiction. These NRT products include gums, transdermal patches, nasal sprays, oral inhalers,
and tablets.

Imperial Brand – Imperial Brand, just like PTC are also one of the largest manufacturers of tobacco and
nicotine products. It has been our oldest and largest competitors before brands like Pyxus or Niconovum
took over. Its brands include Davidoff, West, Montecristo, Golden Virginia which are the world's best-
selling hand rolling tobacco, Drum which is the world's second largest selling fine cut tobacco and Rizla
the world's best-selling rolling paper.

Dannemann El noble cigarro – this brand is an international brand for old-school people who like
premium cigars. Its not been our best competitor but still the threat is there as it is available in Pakistan
and some people prefer premium cigars over cheap cigarettes.
