    Gastroenteritis: gastr/o (stomach) is joined with enter/o (small intestine), the main symptoms
    you probably have are watery diarrhea and vomiting. Because of diarrhea and vomiting, you
    also can become dehydrated. Watch for signs of dehydration, such as dry skin and a dry mouth,
    feeling lightheaded, and being thirsty.

    Abdominocentesis: abdomen/o (abdomen) and -centesis is a surgical puncture to remove


    fluid. the process of inserting a small gauge needle into the abdomen to evaluate if fluid is
    present and obtain a sample for further testing. This quick procedure can be done on an
    outpatient basis, will not typically require sedation and may be performed with ultrasound
    guidance.
