A. 7 mo. 15 days old baby girl, Birth weight is 7 lbs, current weight is 6 kg, normal length
DBW (gm)= Birth Weight(gm)+(age in months x 500)
=7lb
=7 months
= DBW (gm)= 7lbs (454 gm) + (7 months x 500)
= 3178 + (7 x 500)
= 3178 + 3500
= 6678 or 6.7kg or 7kg; 15.43lbs or 15lbs
The client is underweight the average length and weight for a 7-month-old baby girl is
16lb 12 oz (7.6 kg) and 26.5 in (67.3 cm). For babies who have started solid foods but
still aren't eating enough, weight-promoting options include offering more variety,
choosing higher-calorie, more nutrient-dense foods. Start by ensuring that most meals
and snacks are nutrient-rich. Good sources of protein for weight gain include eggs,
peanut butter and other nut butters, bean soups, milk, yogurt, and cheese.
TER (kcal)= 7.6 x 110 cal/kg DBW
= 836 kcal/day
TER x AMDR
Carbohydrate: 836 x 0.55 = 459.8kcal
459.8kcal / 4kcal/g = 114.95 – 115g
Protein: 836 x 0.10 = 83.6kcal
83.6kcal / 4kcal/g = 20.9 – 20g
Fat: 836 x 0.30 = 250.8kcal
250.8kcal / 9kcal/g = 27.87 – 30g

B. 9-year-old boy, active, student (on f2f), normal ht for age, current weight is 35 kg
DBW (kg) = (9 yrs. old x 2) + 8
= 18 + 8
= 26kg
An average weight and height of a 9 yr. old boy is 132.2cm and 28.1kg since the client’s
current height and weight is 133.3cm and 35kg therefore the DBW for the said client is
26kg means that the client is overweight.
TER = 26kg x 45kcal/kg DBW/day
TER = 1170 kcal
Since the client is an active student on F2F means there are numerous activities such as
physical education, etc.
TER x ADMR
Carbohydrate: 1170 x 0.65 = 760.5
760.5 / 4kcal/g = 190.13 - 190g
Protein: 1170 x 0.15 = 175.5
175.5 / 4kcal/g = 43.98 – 45g
Fat: 1170 x 0.2 = 234
234 / 9kcal/g = 26g – 25g
D. Male, 25 y/o, Grocery Store bagger works 8 hours 6 days a week, medium body built,
5’6” ht, wt 65 kg

TER x ADMR
Carbohydrate: 2135 x 0.55 = 1174.25
1174.25 / 4kcal/g = 293.56 – 295g
Protein: 2135 x 0.12 = 256.2
256.2 / 4kcal/g = 64.5 – 65g
Fat: 2135 x 0.2 = 427
427 / 9kcal/g = 47.44 – 45g
