In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 2 of the Kerala Public Services
Act, 1968 (19 of 1968), read with section 3 thereof, the Government of Kerala hereby make the
following rules, further to amend the Kerala Service Rules, namely:-

RULES

1. Short title and commencement.- (1) These rules may be called the Kerala Service (4 th Amendment)
Rules, 2021.

(2) They shall come into force on the 6th day of November, 2019.

2. Amendment of the Rules.- In Part I of the Kerala Service Rules, in Appendix VII, under the heading
"Section II - Special Casual Leave", after rule 19 C, the following rule shall be inserted, namely:-

“19 D. Special casual leave not exceeding 30 days shall be granted in a calendar year to a
Government employee for undergoing angioplasty, subject to the conditions specified in rule 19.”

Explanatory Note

(This does not form part of the notification, but is intended to indicate its general purport.)
As per G.O. (P) No. 153/2019/Fin. dated 6th November, 2019, Government have ordered that
special casual leave up to 30 days shall be granted to government employees who undergo angioplasty,
subject to the conditions specified in rule 19, Section II, Appendix VII, Part I of the Kerala Service
Rules. In order to give statutory validity to the above said Government Order, Government have
decided to make suitable amendments in Section II, Appendix VII, Part I of the Kerala Service Rules.
The notification is intended to achieve the above object.
