The Endline Survey for the Effectiveness of Job Preference Signaling

SUMMARY INFORMATION

Things you should know about this study:

• Purpose: The purpose of this survey is to collect endline data for the research study, “the
Effectiveness of Job Preference Signaling,” which aims to rigorously evaluate the effectiveness of
job preference signaling.
• Procedures: If you choose to take this survey, you will be prompted to answer an online survey.
• Duration: It takes about 5 minutes.
• Risks: The potential discomfort is the 5-minute time you spare for this survey.
• Benefits: While there is no direct benefit to you, your responses will help us to improve job
matching services.
• Alternatives: There are no known alternatives available to you other than not taking part in this
survey.
• Participation: Taking part in this research project is voluntary.

PURPOSE OF THE STUDY

The purpose of the research study, “Effectiveness of Job Preference Signaling,” is to rigorously
evaluate the impacts of job preference signaling on job matching efficiency. The purpose of this
survey is to collect endline data with which to analyze the impacts.

NUMBER OF STUDY PARTICIPANTS

We invite all active jobseekers registered at Bdjobs.com. We expect that approximately 10,000
jobseekers will participate in the survey. If you decide to take the survey, you will be one of
them.

DURATION OF THE STUDY

The survey will take approximately 5 minutes.

PROCEDURES
If you agree to participate in the survey, the online survey will be presented to you. Then, please
answer the survey questions. Once you finish the survey, please close the internet browser. Your
answers will be automatically recorded.

RISKS AND/OR DISCOMFORTS

The possible discomfort to you is the 5-minute time required to complete the survey. Please be
assured that no questions ask sensitive information and that you will have the option to decline to
answer any questions, and your decline will not cause any consequence.

BENEFITS
While there is no direct benefit to you, your responses will help us to improve job matching
services, which will eventually benefit all jobseekers, including you.

ALTERNATIVES
There are no known alternatives available to you other than not taking part in this survey.

CONFIDENTIALITY
The records of this survey will be kept private and will be protected to the fullest extent provided
by law. In any sort of report we might publish, we will not include any information that will
make it possible to identify you. Research records will be stored securely and only the
researcher team and Bdjobs.com will have access to the records. However, your records may be
inspected by authorized University or other agents who will also keep the information
confidential.

USE OF YOUR INFORMATION

Identifiers about you might be removed from the identifiable private information and that, after
such removal, the information could be used for future research studies or distributed to another
investigator for future research studies without additional informed consent from you or your
legally authorized representative.

COMPENSATION & COSTS

You will receive no payment for your participation. There are no costs to you for participating in
this survey.

RIGHT TO DECLINE OR WITHDRAW

Your participation in this survey is voluntary. You are free to participate in the survey or
withdraw your consent at any time during the survey. You will not lose any benefits if you
decide not to participate or if you quit the survey early.
