Government of India(GoI) has extended the additional charge of Dr Navrang Saini as Chairperson
(additional charge) of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI) for 3 months till 5th March
2022 or till the joining of a new incumbent to the post or until further orders.

Member of the Intergovernmental Committee (IGC) of UNESCO’s (United Nations Educational,
Scientific and Cultural Organization) 2003 Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible
Cultural Heritage for a period of 2022-2026 i.e. 4 years.
✓ India has previously served as a member of this IGC Committee twice viz. 2006 to 2010 & from
2014 to 2018.
✓ There are India’s 14 inscriptions on the Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of
Humanity.
✓ In 2021, Durga Puja was added to inscription list. Now, India submitted the nomination
for Garba of Gujarat for discussion in 2023.

ACC gives Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Gauba one-year Extension
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the extension in service of Rajiv
Gauba as Cabinet Secretary for a further period of one-year beyond August 30, 2022. This is his
second extension on the post.
In 2019, he was appointed as the Cabinet Secretary, India’s top bureaucratic post, for 2 years. Earlier, he

Government Reappoints Four Independent Directors on RBI Central Board

The government has reappointed four independent directors on the board of Reserve Bank of India
(RBI) for another 4 years. They are:
✓ The centre appointed directors including Swaminathan Gurumurthy and cooperative movement
veteran Satish Kashinath Marathe with the effective from 11th August 2022, or until further
orders, whichever is earlier.
The Centre also re-nominated Revathy Iyer and Sachin Chaturvedi as part-time, non-official directors
on the Board of RBI for 4 years after the completion of their present tenure on 18th September 2022.
GoI extends tenure of Meenesh Shah as NDDB Chairman for 6 months

The Government of India (GoI) extended the tenure of Meenesh C Shah, an Executive Director (ED)
of National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) to hold charge as the Chairman of NDDB for another
six months until November 30, 2022.
✓ Meenesh C Shah has been holding the charge as NDDB Chairman since 1st June 2021.
