Beneficiaries

The primary goal of this study is to evaluate the preparedness and readiness of fourth-year

students enrolled in Lorma Colleges' Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program. Furthermore, to help

them understand the necessity of having disaster preparation plans or programs in place. The condition

of student nurses' disaster response readiness, particularly their capacity to interact and advise the local

population both before and during catastrophes, is investigated. If students and instructors are not

well, the institution should consider educator training, disaster management seminars for educators,

and incorporate preparation lessons or courses into the curriculum. The study may benefit the following

groups of people: the student nurses, as they be able to evaluate themselves for knowledge gaps and

inept skills while responding to the survey questions; the community, as it will provide more

opportunities and human resources to use during a disaster response; and finally, the nursing research

field, as it will help in identifying potential relationship between disaster preparedness and readiness

that will contribute knowledge to the field of disaster nursing.
