5. PROCEDURE

5.1 General description

In addition to the flow computer, the enclosure contains a display unit and push-buttons for local
operations.

The enclosure also includes a power supply, computer assembly, barriers to the intrinsically safe
units, converter with galvanic separation, communication switch to peripheral units, and HART
modem.

All wiring and connections to the system should be finalized and checked by authorized Roxar
personnel before external power is applied to the EExd enclosure.

Appendix 1: Well Test Record Sheet may be used to record the measured values.

The electronics components in the flow computer are not repairable and may be subject to
replace. The services should be performed by authorized Roxar personnel only!

5.2 Power – up
The system power is switched ON by setting the changeover switch marked MAIN POWER on the
lower left side of the enclosure (not shown on the picture), to the position marked ON. The system
is switched OFF by setting changeover switch back to the position marked OFF.

5.3 Display & Control unit

The display unit controlled by the push-button panel is installed in the front door of the EExd
enclosure. The display shows flow rates, primary parameters, totalized flow rates and well test
operations. Push-buttons have a navigation/select function used to toggle between the display
modes as well as for well test setup. The following table describes the labelling and functions of
the push-buttons:

5.7 Configuration
5.7.1 Setup by using Service Console Software
Well identification and the fluid parameter setup should be completed using the Service Console
Software.

All of the wells should be named with a number between 1 and 50. Alphanumeric characters
cannot be used.

The flow computer can store up to five (5) different fluid parameter sets (PVT data and fluid
properties). The fluid parameter set that is used during a well test must be pre-selected [2].
