1. Problem Domain
The domain of our work is Machine Learning.

 Machine Learning - The field of study that gives computers the capability to learn without
being explicitly programmed.

 The extents of the success ultimately depend on how well the real-time situations go with the
kind of learning model the project uses and the factors that it considers in the data set.

2. Motivation/Study

a) Survey Papers on Agriculture Yield Prediction Tool using ML by Niranjan G Hedge,

Rajath Navada P R, Srisannidhi Majumdar, Spoorthi Shridhar Jambarmath, Prof
Madhabi R P(BMSCE)

- Survey for different yield prediction methods. Agriculture prediction would help the
agricultural bodies in order to support farmers for making meaningful and profitable
decisions regarding crop selection and methods of agriculture.

b) Agricultural production output prediction using Supervised Machine Learning techniques

by Md. Tahmid Shakoor,  Karishma Rahman, Sumaiya Nasrin Rayta, Amitabha
Chakrabarty

- To help the farmers take decisions that can make their farming more efficient and
profitable, the research tries to establish an intelligent information prediction analysis
on farming in Bangladesh.

c) Crop Suggesting System Using Unsupervised Machine Learning Algorithm by

K.D.Yesugade, Hetanshi Chudasama, Aditi Kharde, Ketki Mirashi, Kajal Muley
- The proposed system focuses on three major parts namely - fetching values from
hardware, k-means algorithm on trained data and then suggest the crop for the sensed
data.

3. Problem Definition
We intend to bring an enhancement in the field of precision agriculture by achieving better
results in predicting best crop yields in a particular piece of land as compared to the work already
done in the field. With the use of machine learning techniques with proper optimizations and
fine-tuned selection of the classifying algorithm, a system can be built that considers the data set
comprising soil conditions, weather conditions of the past, builds a statistical model through
learning and thus seeks to provide accurate and precise decision help with respect to the crops
that can be grown profitably during the upcoming period of time. The output of this work would
produce within the system, a set of rules (Knowledge base, which learns with more training from
data sets) that helps the farmers pick most reliable crops to be grown for the present external
factors, with least possible chances of losses.

4. Project Benefits

 Identification of pest and disease outbreak before occurrence

 Managing crop quality
 Soil testing
 Suggesting the best fertilizers
 Prevention from disastrous losses of farmers

5. Conclusion

 This project would help the farmers take decisions that which crop will produce best
yield and max profit.

 This framework functions totally on input data, manipulates it and produces the desirable
output.

 Agriculture prediction would help the agricultural bodies in order to support farmers for
making meaningful and profitable decisions regarding crop selection and methods of
agriculture.
