Introduction
Profiling in Criminology refers to a set of investigative ways used by
the police to try to identify perpetrators of serious crime. It
involves working out the characteristics of
an lawbreaker by examining the characteristics of the crime scene and
the crime itself.
Surrounded by a halo of magic or questioned about its legitimacy,
profiling remains largely unknown on our continent. Used since the early
1970s with success in North America, this approach has contributed to
. the elucidation of many current or old criminal cases
