DIFFERENCES OF GOOD AND SERVICES

Goods are good to describe physical commodity while services can be described

as a process or activity. The production of goods and distribution are separate from their

consumption. On the other hand, services production, distribution, and consumption are

simultaneous process. Goods can be stored while services cannot be stored. In Goods there are

possible to transfer ownership while in services the transfer of ownership is not possible. Goods

are best described as physical or durable product while services are intangible and perishable

product. In goods, output can longer be inventoried while in services, output cannot be

inventoried. In Goods, there is a low contact with customers while in services there is a high

contact with clients because of the service you offered. According to the operation facility, large

facilities and productions are needed in order to produce goods while small service facility for

services. In goods, the quality of the product is already measure while in service , the quality of

service is not easily measured. In Resource Intensity, there is need a capital intensive in goods

while labor intensive is need in services. In terms of re-usability, the goods or product can be

resold while the services cannot be resold. In goods the core value process in factory while in
services the core values are processed and produced by the buyer and seller interaction.

Services may occur at retail store, local office, house call or via internet. Goods are material

items that can be touched, seen or felt and are ready for sale to customers. Service is an activity

which one party can offer to another party without transferring the ownership of anything.

Goods are tangible and homogeneous in nature. Services are intangible and heterogeneous in

nature. Goods are tangible, as in these have a physical presence and they can be touched, while

services are intangible in nature. The purpose of both goods and services is to provide utility

and satisfaction to the consumer. Goods are tangible items sold to customers, while services

are tasks performed for the benefit of the recipients. Examples of goods are automobiles,

appliances, and clothing. Examples of services are legal advice, house cleaning, and consulting

services. Differences between goods and services Essay. The most obvious difference between a

good and a service is the tangibility property where a good is tangible in that it can be touched,

seen and even smelt. A service on the hand is intangible in the sense that it can neither be seen

nor touched.
