Fidelity believes that high standards of corporate responsibility


make good business sense and protect and enhance investment
returns.

Our investment process takes environmental, social and


governance (“ESG”) issues into account when, in our view, these
have a material impact on either investment risk or return. We gain
an understanding of the relevant ESG issues applicable to our
investments through our internal research process and in
collaboration with a highly technical in-house sustainable investing
team to identify those issues which may potentially threaten the
value of our investment.

ESG analysis are being carried out at analyst level within the equity,
fixed income, multi-asset and real estate teams and our portfolio
managers are active in analysing the potential effects of these
factors when making investment decisions.

teams and is responsible for consolidating Fidelity’s approach to
stewardship, engagement,

ESG integration and the exercise of our votes at general meeting .

Purpose of your role

This position offers hands on experience of the key parts of the


ESG function, voting process, exposure to related parts of the
business and to contribute to meeting our ESG responsibilities.

The internship period will be from February to August 2022 for up


to 6 months. Successful candidate is expected to commit to the full
period.

Key Responsibilities

ESG Research

• Working with the investment team to identify and provide relevant


ESG information.

• Completing ESG risk analysis within portfolios using external


screening tools.

• Assisting engagements with companies on ESG issues.

• Client reporting on ESG factors.

Shareholder Rights - AGM/ EGM Agenda Analysis, Summary and


Communication:

• Assist prepare recommendations and memos on key issues at


shareholder meetings for Fidelity’s Investment Team.

• Collate information and data from voting platforms, internal


records, and research from third-party agents.

• Coordinate communications from the investment team and client


services on voting matters.

• When required, interact with custodian banks and voting agents.

Research:

• Work on ESG Research Projects including policy development.

• Contribute to process improvement and ongoing projects to


enhance efficiency and automation.

• Research key governance and ESG topics.

Oversight:

• Assist monitor voting activity and integrate special situations


including client restrictions, corporate actions, market or event

rules.

• Ensure custodian bank instructions align with our investment


team’s views.

• Highlight key issues for escalation.

Reporting:

• Assist produce reporting content and summaries.

• Assist produce client and public reporting.


Skills and Requirements

• Penultimate year student of Bachelor or Master’s degree in


university (Class of 2023).

• Fresh graduate (class of 2022) are also welcome.

• Excellent written communication and drafting skills.

• Highly organised, diligent and conscientious.

• Very strong attention to detail.

• Interest in ESG.

• Ability to manage and work to tight deadlines.

• Good problem-solving skills.

• Ability to develop & maintain good relationships with


stakeholders.

• Flexible and positive attitude.
