Position Summary:
The Real Estate Consultant is a member of the Private Markets Real Estate Team. This team is
responsible for the development and management of Meketa’s institutional clients’ real estate
portfolios, which invest globally through limited partnerships, co-investments with general partners, and
secondary investments. The Real Estate Consultant works closely with other investment and research
professionals in supporting all elements of the portfolio management processes. The Real Estate
Consultant also support the firm’s research and marketing efforts. For this role, we seek experienced,
knowledgeable, and enthusiastic individuals with outstanding analytic abilities and relationship
management skills. The position reports to the Head of Real Estate Investments.
Leadership Responsibilities:
Immediately serve in a senior leadership role
• Execute in a leadership role in serving clients and formalizing firm strategy
• Collaborate with and lead teams in providing advice to 8-12 clients across Meketa’s client base
• Mentor newer consultants and analysts in both formal and informal roles
• Work with research team in helping to cultivate new manager names and investment
concepts
• Speak at industry events to serve as an ambassador of the firm and help market the firm
by promoting our reputation as a leading consulting and research organization
Work extensively with firm leadership and marketing team to have an active role in business
development efforts and achieve continued client growth
Consulting Responsibilities:
Investment consultants have primary responsibility for all aspects of a client relationship.
Consultants work with clients in a variety of areas, including setting investment strategies,
selecting investment managers, and monitoring fund performance and strategy. As a member
of the consulting team, this person will work on continuing growth in our general consulting and
specialty consulting services.
• Experience in real estate, specifically investment manager sourcing and due diligence on
primary, secondary investments, and/or co-investments
Sound understanding of economic and investment theory and practices
Strong analytical and quantitative skills
Professional and effective writing, presentation, and communication skills
Superb computer skills, including facility with Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent attention to detail
Experience performing investment research and reporting on diverse investment programs
Marketing and business development
Ability to gather, organize, coordinate, and interpret data from disparate sources
Ability to work efficiently and accurately under time pressure and to meet deadlines
Ability to work independently and to proactively seek new responsibilities
Ability to work well with employees from other company departments and offices
Ability to travel up to 30% of the time
Experience working with institutional clients - Endowment and Foundation, Taft-Hartley
and/or Public Fund clients (preferred)
