Task 1a

Rhythm Pharmaceuticals (RYTM)

The functional structure is the organizational structure used by RYTM Pharmaceutical. This is because
the company's management has allowed for greater specialization and domain expertise than a simple
structure would allow RYTM Pharmaceutical operates in a functional structure, but they are typically
specialized, and the CEO is in charge of the company. Because of the effective top-down and bottom-up
communication chain between the CEO and the functional departments, the company relies on a
relatively tall structure. (Lumen, 2022)

Making decisions such as policy and operating decisions in the company

This is a major decision RYTM mostly uses. When RYTM are making a policy decision, the decision is
taken by the top management because this decision affects the entire company. With this decision-
making is highly centralized.

Lower-level management makes operational decisions in order to put policy decisions into action. For
example, the bonus issue RYTM is a policy decision made by top management, and bonus calculation is
an operational decision made at lower levels to carry out the policy decision. Decentralized operational
decisions are made. (Gayathri, 2021)

Delegation
Organizational decisions are those made in a manager's official capacity. In RYTM, such decisions can be
delegated. Personal decisions, however, that concern the manager as an individual rather than a
member of the organization, cannot be delegated. In this case, there is a high centralization.

(Gayathri, 2021)

Task 1b
Political factors
Various political variables influence business activities and strategic decisions, such as unfavorable
regulations and approaches to item exchange, security, or licensed innovation procurement, and high
assessment rates, particularly in urban communities. Aside from that, the company's strategic decisions
have been influenced by the unexpected government decision to deny it permission to develop a
recreation area in the country. Moreover, political chaos in the countries (UK) where RYTM
pharmaceutical profiting from Uncertainty operates will have an impact on its overall business and
development.

The Political factors of RYTM is a Mechanistic Structure because the environment is stable.

(Pestleanalysis, 2021)

Social factors
Because of social factors such as high internet penetration, the use of mobile applications, social media,
and games, children's attention has shifted away from visiting local shops and toward spending time on
their devices. This has impacted the organizational operations both locally and globally. Moreover,
children's preferences and needs have shifted from local shops to ecommerce platforms such as Ebay.

The Social factors of RYTM is an Organic Structure because the environment is unstable.

(Pestleanalysis, 2021)

Technological factors
Promoting and incorporating innovation into the organization's service model has been critical to its
success. In order to engage and attract children, RYTM strongly believes in introducing new services such
as an e-commerce platform and activities. RYTM is considering offering a low-cost online platform to
market its services to customers. The Technological factors of RYTM is an Organic Structure because the
environment is unstable.

(Pestleanalysis, 2021)

Task 2a
External change
Adoption of e-commerce platform and online ordering and delivery services

During the Covid-19 pandemic, customers were not able to visit the physical shops because America was
quarantined. Due to this, RYTM created an e-commerce platform where they can sell their products to
their customers and also place orders and they will be delivered to their doorstep.

(Orrin, 2021)

Two types of Change

1. Technological change
RYTM Communication and sharing of information
Technology has made things look faster, easier, and more efficient for RYTM. With the help of
applications like Microsoft Team's such as Excel which is use as Human Resources functions in the
company for trying to sort worked hours and organizing employee information and expenses, that also
assists RYTM in better knowing the organization and activities of their workers Social media platforms, is
another technological change in the company, with the help of social media platforms such as Linkin,
has helped RYTM advertise its products on the platform in other for the public to know what the
company sells.

(Orrin, 2021)

2. Structural / Cultural Change

 Change Roles Assignment

RYTM has implemented cultural change by reassigning technical specialists in existing departments.
They have decentralized the Human Resources branch and placed a Human resource executive in
each main sector. As a Human resource expert, the expert will handle all matters for the staff in that
branch in meeting with the manager.

(Bianca, 2022)

 Employees involvement

RYTM top managers have implemented the need for change in culture among employees by
changing the company's structure from the ground up. Managers at RYTM may discuss the issue of
needing to make the company to adapt to changing their market conditions, and then solicit
employee input for company restructuring through town hall meetings and other methods. This is a
broad team that worked because working with management changed employees' attitudes.

(Bianca, 2022)

Tasks 2b
Three potential reasons for resistance to the change
1. Lack of Clarity of the objective of a change
Lack of Coordination and Trust Across Functions

As their employee populations grow and their businesses become more complex, their clients report
significant disconnects in how things get done. While most people believe they can rely on their own
teams to deliver on promises, the vast majority lacks confidence in coworkers from other functions or
regions.

This is frequently a significant issue for strategy implementation, which requires collaboration across the
teams.

lack of coordination can cause breakdown in the departments. (LSAGLOBAL, 2022)

2. Employee Turnover and Less Morale

RYTM can be a meaningful reason for low employee morale, which has a negative impact on overall
performance and drives some employees to seek alternative employment. Several employees want to
expand their skills and knowledge, which they might not be able to do in a change-resistant workplace.
(Petersen, 2019)

3. Ineffective processes and the need for Technology Innovation

When most organization begin, they are undercapitalized. It is not unusual for an entrepreneur to create
processes and save money while maintaining the business running. In contrast, industry standards and
technological advances can provide businesses, even those that have lean operations, with more
efficient and cost-effective options than all of those currently in use.

The purposes for a company's continued use of inefficient processes can be complex. In some instances,
a company's leadership may be disconnected from the industry and unaware of all available options.
The next difficult issue is a long-term employee who is worried about attrition and performs a useful role
within the organization. In this case, the employee may reject new technology to change existing
processes. (Petersen, 2019)

Tasks 3a
Internal Stakeholders
1) Email

Because email communication is nearly instantaneous, it improves communication by allowing for the
rapid dissemination of information and responses to customer inquiries. It also makes problem solving
and business processes more efficient. Email enabled RYTM's company to market to specific audiences.
Customers can opt-in to receive emails about existing products, sales, and new items. Customers are
more likely to respond positively if they receive personalized emails based on their preferences. Email
marketing can also be used to target customers based on interactions with a company in the past. A
business, for example, can use different messaging to target new, existing, and repeat customers.

(Acevedo, 2019)

2) Face to face meeting

 Interpret nonverbal cues

The most critical information is not always communicated verbally. When you meet in person, you can
interpret micro-behaviors like facial expressions and gestures, which can help you determine how
engaged other people are in the conversation and provide insight into how they may be feeling.

These nonverbal cues can aid in the direction of your responses and conversation. If a manager is
meeting with a client who is constantly checking their watch, he or she may choose a more exciting
change of subject to regain their attention. (Indeed, 2022)

External Stakeholders
1) Social Media groups

Customer and audience participation

Managers can interact directly with customers and fans, as well as with their brand, via social media
platforms. Social media, as opposed to traditional media, allows for two-way communication. RYTM
must be engaged if they want their customers and followers to be engaged.

Managers should stay active on social media and respond to feedback on their own posts in a way that is
consistent with their brand.

They can use social media monitoring to observe what individuals are saying on social media channel.
(Hootsuite, 2021)

 Increased Exposure/Brand Awareness:

Social media will can bring new eyes to RYTM company or service. When their message is displayed to a
large number of people with a single click. Managers can use social media to find customers who are
already talking about their business information, which they can then use to reach even more people.

(Spillane, 2022)
2) Email

Customers can also be targeted via email based on their RYTM status. For example, RYTM can tailor
messaging to new, existing, and repeat customers.

Content: They were communicating about social media groups brand awareness and email.

Timing: January 2020, communication occurred in January, most likely in the middle week of
January last year.

Tasks 3b
Three effective method for communicating with remote workers
1. Emailing

Email is still one of the best remote team communication tools for formal communications. There is also
a written record of the conversations. Because email is not as immediate or interactive as other
communication tools such as messaging and video, it allows users to think about their messages and
respond when they have time.

(indeed, 2022)

2. Video conferencing

One of the primary benefits of using video conferencing is the ability to hold a conference with people
who do not share the same physical space. This can include bringing together telecommuting
employees, holding a meeting with multiple branches, or organizing staff meetings that do not require
employees to leave their workstations. Attendees can participate in a video conference from any
location using video conference applications available on smartphones.

Holding a video conference allows RYTM to easily manage meeting conversations. The manager can
easily control who speaks and minimize other distractions by adjusting who has talking or video
privileges throughout the conference call. This can make their conference more efficient, allowing the
manager to convey more relevant information. (indeed, 2022)

3. Activity reports
Managers can track employees' daily or weekly progress using digital activity reports. Each employee
records their daily activities as well as the status of the projects they are working on. This method of
communication allows RYTM to keep track of their team's progress without having to schedule
unnecessary meetings. RYTM can find templates for creating activity reports online.

A weekly report template is useful because it can help the company to streamline their weekly report
creation process. Using a template instead of starting from scratch can help RYTM to save time when
creating their report.

(indeed, 2022)

Tasks 4a
1)Business loan
Bank debt is another term for a loan. Credit unions and banks provide funding that must be repaid with
interest over time. This could be a personal loan, a traditional business loan, or a combination of loans,
depending on the type of asset you want to purchase.

The company should demonstrate to the lender that you are likely to repay the bank loans, as well as
meet any other requirements they may have. A bank loan does not require the company to give up any
equity. The company will, however, be required to pay interest on top of the principal once more.
(Lavinsky, 2022)

Advantages of Business loan

1. Receive a cash infusion to help your business grow:

Obtaining a business loan is the most straightforward and obvious way for RYTM to generate significant
revenue. If RYTM is prepared to start, expand, or expand its operational processes, business loans are an
excellent option. They have access to a relatively large amount of money for a variety of purposes when
compared to other funding options. (Ling, 2019)

2. keeps control over the business:

Unlike borrowing equity (in which business concerns are agreed to share), a bank loan gives RYTM
complete control over the company. Banks are not engaged in any part of their company operations,
which implies that as a company owner, users maintain management and control over their business
operations while benefiting from extra income. (Ling, 2019)
Disadvantages of Business loan
1. Qualification is difficult:

Unfortunately, obtaining business loans is extremely difficult unless the organization is a small business
owner with a significant proven record of important assets (i.e. real estate). When it comes to lending,
banks, like mortgage lenders, are extremely cautious. They want to ensure that you can repay them.
Lenders are frequently required to provide a bank guarantor, which may include the seizure of personal
assets if the business fails and is unable to pay back all or a part of a loan.

(Ling, 2019)
2. Interest cost is extremely high:

The high interest rate is another drawback of a small business loan. Moreover, the amount that a
company qualifies for is frequently insufficient to meet its needs. Lending at a higher rate of interest is
expensive for the company because it frequently has to deal with the business loan as well as additional
money to cover funds that the bank don’t provide.

(Ling, 2019)

2. Friends and Family fund

For entrepreneurs, family and friends are valuable sources of capital. They may offer financing in the
form of equity (which they receive in the form of organizational shares), debt (which you must repay), or
a combination of the two. Because they trust you and are easier to convince than strangers, friends and
family are excellent sources of funding. (Lavinsky, 2022)

Advantages of friends and family funds

1. The Easiest Way to Raise Funds:

There is no need to prepare a pitch deck or a compelling speech to impress the investors. All you need
to do is persuade your friends and family to support your idea. It is by far the simplest way to raise funds
for your company. Your friends and family are most likely unaware of what you are up to. Nonetheless,
they will contribute financially to your success as an entrepreneur. In comparison to professional
investors, you can easily persuade your loved ones to be interested in your business.

(Synvestcapital, 2022)

2. The Best Financing Terms:

Your friends and family are unlikely to inquire about the profit margins of your company's equity shares.
That is why financing from friends and family has the best terms. It is not necessary to request funds
without prior agreement, but when compared to investors, you will get a better deal from friends and
family. After the initial investment, many friends have become partners in the company. Instead of
dealing with loan sharks or obstinate investors, you can turn to your loved ones for assistance.
(Synvestcapital, 2022)

Disadvantages of friends and family funds

1. It Put Relationships at Stake:

The risk of losing both money and relationships is one of the most major drawbacks of incorporating
money into relationships. It's true that relationships are more valuable than money. It has unfortunately
become a source of contention and discord among friends and family. If your company is not profitable,
or if a friend or family member is not receiving the compensation they deserve, it can result in
disagreements and the end of relationships. (Synvestcapital, 2022)

2. Limitation of Capital Availability:

You cannot make a financial projection with your friends and family, unlike venture capitalists. With this
type of funding approach, capital availability will always be limited. You cannot get what you want
unless you know someone who works in a similar field. You'll have to look for alternative funding
sources sooner or later. As a result, Borrowing from friends and family is not always a reliable option for
many people. If you require a substantial sum of money, you should turn to capital investors.

(Synvestcapital, 2022)

Base on this analysis, friends and family funds is good than business loan
Task 4b

(finance, 2022)
Comment
The chart table gives information about the balance sheet and profit and loss of RYTM
Pharmaceuticals. In 2018 RYTM Pharmaceutical sales was $13 million, In 2019 their sales increased to $
14 million while in 2020 their sales decreased to $4 million and 2021 their sales increased dramatically
to $ 26 million. This means that RYTM Pharmaceuticals had the best sales in 2021.

Tasks 5a
THREE (3) ways in which my chosen organization has benefited from
promotion using social media channels
1. Brand Identification
Increasing brand recognition is one of RYTM Pharmaceutical's most important marketing objectives. This
is because customers prefer to buy brands with which they are familiar. Certainly, social media has
simplified and increased the effectiveness of brand building. RYTM can get their brand in front of people
much more quickly and easily with social media than with traditional media. Furthermore, it draws the
attention of their audience to their brand even when they are unaware of it.

(Joshi, 2022)

2. Less-Effective

Social media marketing could be the least expensive part of a marketing strategy. Majority of social
networking sites permit RYTM to sign up and create a profile without paying anything, and any
sponsored advertisements the company chooses to run are inexpensive in comparison to other
marketing strategies. Because RYTM is inexpensive, it can provide a better return on investment while
freeing up funds for other marketing and business expenditure.

By investing a small amount of time and money, RYTM can vastly improve their conversion rates and
eventually earn a return on their initial investment. (Joshi, 2022)

3. It helps to Increases Sales

Social media marketing generates more leads than any other form of marketing. RYTM has more
opportunities to convert potential customers into actual customers due to the increased visibility that
comes with being on social platforms. As a result, RYTM Pharmaceutical may find that using social media
in marketing is extremely beneficial.

(Joshi, 2022)

Tasks 5b

1. CRM System
Enhance good customer service

Despite the fact that modern CRM software has many functions, its major purpose has been to improve
RYTM customer relationships. A CRM keeps track of all of RYTM's contacts, gathers crucial customer
data like demographics, purchase histories, and previous messages, and makes it available to everyone
in the company who needs it. This guarantees that their staff adheres to all the customer data they
require to give the customers with high-quality service, which benefits the customers.

(Kuligowski, 2022)

2) Management Information Systems

Centralized Data
Data is one of the most important components of any institution. It is the foundation of every operation.
Data such as employee demographics, for example, assist RYMT in determining the best Business
approach.

RYMT entire database assists them in planning and making decisions. The right and accurate set of data
assists institutions in developing better strategies that can contribute to the overall development of the
institution.

The management information system assists groups in centralizing data. Stakeholders can collect data
and store it in a single system. Because most MIS software is cloud-based, all data will be stored in a
single system.

(Writer, 2021)

3) ERP
Planning and resource management have been optimized.

The term "Enterprise Resource Planning" is appropriate because it enables true planning throughout
RYTM Pharmaceutical, allowing them to predict and forecast sales, costs, and the resources they
require, whether materials, equipment, or people. ERP provides information that enables RYTM to
improve production plans and forecast resource requirements. When RYTM predicts events like
equipment maintenance or order fulfillment, it can help reduce downtime and production delays.
