2. GUIDELINES FOR STUDENTS ON HOW TO ACCESS
LIBRARY MATERIALS
2.1. ACCESS TO LIBRARY MATERIALS
FOR WALK-IN PATRONS:
2.1.1. For the safety of clientele. Students are required to fill-out
the Daily Assessment Health Declaration form at the
security department or it can be answered online. Upon
entering the library facility, students are required to log at
the circulation counter and must observe the rules
regarding social distancing, wearing face masks for
necessary precautions. For the borrowing of printed
materials, students are asked what resources he/she will
be needed and advised to wait for the retrieval of the
books at the shelves by the library-in-charge or students
can openly retrieve the book itself.

2.1.2. For the use of Library and its resources, students are
advised to follow the health protocols.

FOR ONLINE ACCESS:

2.1.3. To access the list of the printed collections, visit the OPAC
(Online Public Access Catalog) of the library at
https://uphsl.edu.ph/library under the online services or
via E-Library at Learning Management System (Moodle).

2.1.4. After choosing the physical library materials on the

library OPAC that need to be borrowed, students
must contact the UPHSL – Main Library via email at
librarycollege@uphsl.edu.ph or message the Facebook
page of the library for the reservation. To pick up the
reserved book, students need to drop by at the library.

 2.1.5. Students may request an electronic copy of the printed
book collection of the library. Students are advised to
wait 2-3 working days for the e-copies to be sent to students
emails. It is a first-come-first-serve basis.

2.1.6. Photocopying and scanning of the printed library

3. GUIDELINES FOR UPHSL EMPLOYEE ON HOW TO ACCESS

LIBRARY MATERIALS

3.1. ACCESS TO LIBRARY MATERIALS

FOR WALK-IN PATRONS:
3.1.1. For the safety of clientele, Employees are required to fill-
out the Daily Assessment Health Declaration form at the
security department or it can be answered online. Upon
entering the library facility, employees are required to log
at the circulation counter and must observe the rules
regarding social distancing, wearing face masks for
necessary precautions. For borrowing printed materials,
faculty and administration may ask for assistance or they
can openly browse and retrieve the collection itself.

3.1.2. For the use of Library and its resources, faculty are advised
to follow the health protocols.

FOR ONLINE ACCESS:

3.1.3. To access the list of the printed collection, visit the OPAC
(Online Public Access Catalog) of the library at the library
website at https://uphsl.edu.ph/library under the online
services via E-Library at Learning Management System
(Moodle).

4. RENEWAL AND RETURNING OF LIBRARY MATERIALS

4.1. RENEWAL OF LIBRARY MATERIALS
4.1.1. Students and Faculty can renew the borrowed books via the
UPHSL – Main Library email (librarycollege@uphsl.edu.ph)
or message the Facebook Page of the library. Borrower’s
receipts are being issued informing the student’s date of
due.

4.1.2.Borrower’s receipts are being issued indicating the

4.1.3. There are allotted 3 copies with different title for the
renewal of the borrowed library materials per library user.

4.2. RETURNING OF LIBRARY MATERIALS

4.2.1. Book return bins or book drops are placed near the
entrance of the Library. Borrowers’ are advised to drop the
item/s at the designated bin

4.2.2. Safety is the greatest concern of the library. There is no rush

to return the borrowed items. All due dates have been
extended and no fines will be incurred.

 4.2.3. All items are removed from the book drops, and they will be
placed for quarantined for 7 seven days.

4.2.4. If students wanted to return the library item and are

concerned about coming to the library in person to do so,
students may call us or message us to discuss the available
option.

4.2.5.Book drops are not applicable for fragile materials.

Materials should be returned directly to the circulation
counter desk.

4.2.6. If students wanted to return the borrowed materials

directly to the counter, they are allowed to do so.

5. ONLINE LIBRARY SERVICES

5.1. ONLINE DATABASES AND ONLINE RESOURCES

5.1.1. For the use of online library databases, students and
faculty can directly go to the library website or the online
source learning management system (moodle) to access the
databases.

5.2. VIRTUAL LIBRARY INSTRUCTION

5.2.1. Students and faculty may ask for assistance on how to
access and navigate the online databases, OPAC, and other
electronic resources, bibliographic control, and orientation.
Students and faculty are advised to fill up the online request
form of the service to be found at the library website.

 5.3. ONLINE REFERENCE SERVICE ASSISTANCE
5.3. Students and faculty may ask for assistance via the
library email chat support such as Chat with ROSA (Library
Avatar), Library email, and the UPHSL Main Library
Facebook Page to support the needs of the patrons by
answering queries, providing requests, and responding to
patrons' concerns.

5.4. DOCUMENT DELIVERY SERVICE ONLINE

5.4. Students and faculty may request an electronic copy of
requested books or manuscripts (see P.19. 2.1.5).
