The document discusses the creation of a title sequence for a project on the topic of county lines. It describes choosing stock images related to county lines and editing them in After Effects and Premiere Pro. While originally intending to film footage, the creator ended up liking the edited stock image approach. The final title sequence includes images related to criminals, drug dealing, money, addicts, and police to reflect the crime drama genre. The creator is pleased with the outcome and skills learned in using the software.

I chose the Netflix series “Power” as an idea of what I would like to
base my title sequence. My topic is county lines. I chose several pictures based on county lines and I’ve edited them in after effects and premier pro with sound effects. My initial idea for my title sequence was to film a few shots for example a gun, a nice car etc… and base it on a ‘drug’ county lines scene. Whilst I was waiting to film, I stared practising and getting used to the software more and I ended up really liking what I was working with, so I carried on doing the Montague type theme and expanding it. My title sequence is focused on a crime drama genre which focuses on crimes, the criminal’s that commit the crimes and also the police that pursue them. Therefore I wanted to include images that reflected all of these aspects. The criminal – shown by a man in prison surrendering with his hands up against the rails. This highlights the repercussions of dealing with drugs. Drug dealing – a cluster of hands exchanging drugs and money. This image clearly shows an exchange being made. Money – the amount of money shown suggests the person selling the drugs is part of a big organisation such as county lines. The Addict – a hand reaching out for a drug in a syringe and bag of drugs. The use of a syringe suggests a hard drug user and the way the hand is displayed implies the person is desperate and highly addicted to drugs. Police – the police car represents the police force. The police dog makes the police presence more specific to drugs ‘sniffer dog’. I’m really pleased with the final outcome and have enjoyed learning new skills and getting more familiar with the software I used. To improve further I would like to film some of my own footage and incorporate it into my title sequence. My original idea was for my title sequence to all be filmed. I started using After Effects software to prepare a backup because I was aware of the complexity of filming everything myself, such as having the right props and people to play the characters. Also the right lighting, weather and equipment. I had to do this all within the allocated time I had. By using After Effects and adding different effects and sound I really liked where it was going and decided to pursue completing the whole title sequence using this software. I found it quite hard finding a drama non copyright sound but I eventfully found one and I’m really happy with it, I also added some sound effects to add more tension. Throughout this project I have learnt a lot of new skills, I have learnt how to edit photos and rotate them, I also have made a Montague out of all the pictures. I enjoyed learning about various effects and choosing the best ones to suit my title sequence. I learnt how to move the images so they link together to give a polished and professional look. To develop my skills further I would like to continue to explore Premier Pro and look for different ways I can edit.
