Retention & Expansion (BRE) program. In 2022, GNO, Inc. consulted with 63 regional companies

looking to overcome growth challenges.

INTERNATIONAL TRADE
• GNO, Inc. and the World Trade Center New Orleans (WTCNO) approved an operational partnership between
the two organizations – with the WTCNO moving into GNO, Inc., both organizationally and physically,
effectively forming a dedicated “International Trade” partnership with GNO, Inc.
• Launched the Trade Strategy Task Force and the Louisiana Global Trade Coalition to inform and advise
GNO, Inc. and the WTCNO, and help drive momentum on a range of international trade issues primarily
centered around optimizing opportunity for regional ports
• Hosted and met with government delegations, businesses, and key stakeholders from over 20 countries,
including French President Emmanuel Macron, highlighting economic activity in Greater New Orleans

FOOD MANUFACTURING

Economic Development Legislation


Developed and successfully supported (i.e. promoted, lobbied legislators, testified) legislation that fosters a better
business environment, including:
• Tech Tax Simplification – Sponsored legislation to modernize Louisiana’s occupational license tax statute and
sets a flat occupational license tax rate for computer programming businesses
• ITEP – Successfully opposed legislation that would have paved the way for adding the current Industrial Tax
Exemption Program (ITEP) process to the constitution
• Incentives – Actively supported the extension of critical incentive programs: the Quality Jobs Incentive Program
and the Competitive Projects Payroll Incentive (CPPI) Program were extended from 2022 to 2026

coalition's three-year $15M goal has been raised, well ahead of schedule

moving to New Orleans, alongside a “Never Settle” campaign that positioned Greater New Orleans as an accessible
lifestyle alternative to dense urban cores in in New York City, Seattle, and San Francisco.

Locally, the work of GNO, Inc. was shared with local audiences through partnerships with OUTFRONT media for
billboards around Greater New Orleans, Biz New Orleans magazine in each issue of their publication, and limited
targeted ad campaigns on radio and television.

GNO Mechatronics Apprenticeship Program


In an unprecedented partnership, Laitram, McCormick, Elmer Chocolate, Delgado
Community College, Northshore Technical Community College, and Nunez Community
College continue to grow an apprenticeship program to address the shortage of
mechatronics workers in advanced manufacturing careers.
