A good teacher can make a significant difference in a student's life, influencing

everything from classroom learning to long-term success. Every educator must possess a
personality showing a deep understanding of the profession, its duty, and its obligation, to
become an effective teacher. A teacher's personality is strengthened through confidence,
which is built on competence. Confidence is the teacher's inner strength, which can be
bolstered by educational advancement and increased social exposure. In addition, good
teachers must also be good communicators and be able to listen well. Communication doesn't
stop when the teacher is done talking; listening well is also one of the most important skills
needed to be a teacher. We must also treat our co-teachers and other school personnel with
courtesy, consideration, and mutual respect. It is a must to acquire skills in collaboration and
adaptability. Other characteristics of effective teaching include an engaging classroom
presence, empathy and patience, a lifelong love for learning, and an endless dedication to
fulfilling their mission as effective educators. In the mind map that I created previously, I
mention my family, profession, and promotion. The family will always be part of who we
are, and what we should become in the future. The success of an individual lies in the kind of
family that strengthen our individuality, our beliefs, aspirations, and dreams. Our own family
dictates and directs the kind of individual that will eventually mold a nation with integrity
and pride not only for themselves but for the welfare of all. As the saying goes, it takes a
village to mold an individual with a deep sense of pride and integrity. I remember the story
about the parable of four professionals who were asked what they could do for society. The
first was an engineer, who said he would plan and build useful infrastructure. The second was
a nurse, who replied she would take care of the sick. The third was a doctor, who responded
he wouldn’t only take care of the sick but would find the cure to their sickness. The fourth-
and an old and retired schoolteacher- was asked the same question. According to her, “I
helped them become what they are now. The parable portrays one of the most ancient truths
about the teaching profession- that the sacrifices and devotions of teachers result in
individuals who make a difference in society. As an educator never stop being good people,
we must stand up for our students. Second, my profession. As the old saying goes, teaching is
a noble profession. It is our job to provide our students the power to learn, for them to have a
good future. Teachers simplify the hard or complex things including an abstract idea into a
concept accessible to learners. To be honest, I value my profession my whole life. There is
another profession out there, a high-paying job. But it is my duty to serve and be a part of
nation-building. The vital role of a teacher is to guide our students in academics and other
activities that would enhance their abilities. A teacher must also impart knowledge but most
of all good values, that are vital in nation building. As teachers, we must demonstrate
behaviors that uphold the dignity of teaching as a profession by exhibiting qualities such as a
caring attitude, respect, and integrity. We can also enjoy our academic freedom and possess
the privilege of expounding our knowledge as well as the product of our research and
investigation. We can also be recommended for promotion, be allowed to participate in
conferences/pieces of training and be given due recognition for meritorious performance.
Every teacher shall actively ensure that teaching is the noblest profession and manifest
genuine enthusiasm and pride in teaching as a noble calling. We must be imbued with the
spirit of professional loyalty, confidence, faith in one another, self-sacrifice for the common
good, and full cooperation with colleagues. In addition, we must recognize that the interest
and welfare of learners are our first and foremost concern and priority. Above all, educators
must always acknowledge the Almighty God as the guide of his destiny and the destinies of
his men and nation. Every teacher must have the capacity to adapt, adjust and socialize and
maintain a harmonious relationship with the learners, parents, and members of the school
community. As a teacher, we must recognize that education is a public service and thus need
to keep the public informed about the school's programs, projects, and activities as well as its
needs and problems. Every teacher is an intellectual leader in the community, particularly in
the barangay, and should welcome the opportunity to provide such leadership whenever it is
needed to provide counseling services and to actively participate in matters affecting the
welfare of the people. Third, to be promoted and acquire career advancement matters to me.
It means that you are given the privilege of a high salary grade. But to be promoted takes
time and means great responsibilities and challenges. But I do accept the challenge. To be
honest, I sometimes feel little confidence when it comes to promotion. I felt that I was left
behind but through this course, I was able to regain myself. As I came across several lectures,
I realize that the life of a teacher must continue and that I must pursue my dreams and
aspiration not only in my career but for my personal growth and well-being. As for my plans,
it would always include my family, career advancement and my passion to teach learners
regardless of who they are, if they are capable of learning. I would say that this course
changes me a lot. I am a teacher, I am destined to mold young minds, I am the hope of the
future, and I will wholeheartedly do my part.
