11-1. Maintenance Items
– (1) Cleaning the CPU Fan Filters (1/5)
The frequency of cleaning differs depending on the environment. However, clean the
fan filter periodically. (Standard method to judge the clogging is by using your hands.
Touch the bottom part of the filter. If you do not feel the suction, it needs to be
cleaned.)
[Reason]
If the fan filter is excessively dirty (clogged), the cooling efficiency of the substrate in
MPS will drop. Thus, the internal temperature will become high.
If the temperature within the MPS is high, the CPU will experience a Failure.
Furthermore, the possibility of each substrate getting damaged due to high
temperature becomes higher.
[Possible alarms generated due to clogging]
SYS_0134 [CPU-A] CPU INTERNAL TEMPERATURE
TOO HIGH
SYS_2134 [CPU-B] CPU INTERNAL TEMPERATURE
TOO HIGH
SYS_0004 [CPU-A] FAILURE - CPU FAILURE
SYS_2004 [CPU-B] FAILURE - CPU FAILURE

Places that need to be cleaned -1

The temperature will become high due to the clogging of the MPS filter, and the possibility of each substrate getting damaged will rise.

– (1) Cleaning the CPU Fan Filters (2/5)

[Perform the following shutdown tasks for both System A & System B.]
(1) Change the toggle switch of the SIOS card for MPS to the "Shutdown" side.
(2) Wait until the "sub LED" of the CPU card turns OFF after blinking.
(3) Turn OFF the MPS chassis power supply.
(4) Disconnect all the cables connected to the substrates in the lower part of MPS.

– (2) How to Adjust the CPU Power Supply
Spots to check the voltage Voltage adjustment screw
(Increase voltage: Turn to the right, Decrease
voltage: Turn to the left)
(Adjust using the adjustment driver)

How to Adjust CPDDA21, CPDDA31, and CPDDA41

[+5 VDC adjustment]
(1) Check the voltage between the +5 V Pin ↔ GND Pin.
(2) Using the voltage adjustment screw, adjust the voltage within the
adjustment range.
(Adjustment range: 5.0 V to 5.2 V)
[+3.3 VDC adjustment]
(1) Check the voltage between the +3.3 V Pin ↔ GND Pin.
(2) Using the voltage adjustment screw, adjust the voltage within the
adjustment range.
(Adjustment range: 3.30 V to 3.43 V)
* When there is an allowance in the adjustment screw,
adjust it with a high value (the maximum value of the
adjustment range). When there is no allowance in the
adjustment screw, adjust it with a lower value (almost the
lowest value within the adjustment range). When the lowest
value cannot be adjusted, consider replacement of the
power supply.

[Note] Over-turning the voltage adjustment screw when increasing the voltage results in a CPU power supply unit failure.
When increasing the voltage, check the current value using a tester and turn the bolt to the left (decrease voltage) using the
adjustment driver. After checking the rate of voltage change through the amount of turning, adjust the voltage by turning to the right
(increase voltage).

– (3) Changing the Battery for CPU Card (Example: CPCPU31)
When the battery voltage drops, the "[CPU-A] ABNORMAL - BROWNOUT OF BATTERY FOR CPU MODULE" alarm will generate.

[Battery for the CPU card]

Recommended
replacement cycle: five
years

* This battery maintains the

calendar functions within the
CPU card for the period when
there is no power supplied to the
CPU card (MPS power supply is
OFF).

If the battery is drained when power is supplied to CPU, this does not affect the control process.
But if the CPU is restarted while the battery is low, the startup will not complete, as it will stop in the reset state.
