Case study based questions are compulsory.

36. On his birthday, Manoj planned that this time he celebrates his birthday in a small orphanage centre. He bought
apples to give to children and adults working there. Manoj donated 2 apples to each children and 3 apples to each
adult working there along with Birthday cake. He distributed 60 total apples.

for better health infrastructure is the top priority of the countries. It has been observed that countries having
good health facilities have been able to control the number of casualties and sharp increase in recovered cases. The
following graph shows the number of HOSPITAL BEDS and PHYSICIANS per 1000 persons in different countries
during the pandemic COVID-19

(i) What is the ratio of hospital beds to physicians per 1000 in GERMANY ?
(ii) How much % approximately should rise there in the number of physicians in Pakistan to match the number
with Germany?
(iii) Which country is having largest number of beds under one physician? Also find how many beds per
physician have to look after in that country?

38. PREVENTION CORONAVIRUSES : In humans, several coronaviruses are known the most recently discovered
coronavirus causes Coronavirus Disease (Covid-19). Sumit’s parents are quarantine in a school for 14 days in a
one section school having classes 1 to 12. The Novel coronavirus (Covid-19) cases have been confirmed in many
countries due to which the World Health Organisation (WHO) on 11.03.2020 has characterized Covid-19 as
Pandemic(an epidemic occurring worldwide and usually affecting a large number of people). The most common
diagnosis in severe Covid-19 patients is severe pneumonia. Although for most people Covid-19 causes only mild
illness, it can make some people very ill. More rarely, the disease can be fatal. Older people and those with pre-
existing medical conditions appear to be more vulnerable.

In a survey in July 2020 the percent share of Covid-19 deaths on the basis of age was found to be as given below:

Age (years) # 14 15-29 30-44 45-59 60-74 $ 75

% Share in 1 3 11 32 39 14
Covid-19 deaths
Based upon above data answer the following questions:
(i) What is the probability of deaths in age group above 60 years?
(ii) What is the probability of deaths in age group below 30 years ?
(iii) 1 to 6 classes are already filled; Sumit’s father request is to allot him a two digit classroom. Find the chances
for his request is accepted, condition to availability.
 O
(iv) Sumit’s mother requests authorities to allot her a prime no. class. What is the probability of her getting the
same?
