Natural Indicators 

 Natural Indicator is a type of indicator that can be found in naturally existing substances
around us and can determine whether the substance is an acidic substance or a basic
substance.

 Some examples of natural indicators are red cabbage, turmeric, grape juice, turnip skin,
curry powder, cherries, beetroots, onion, tomato, etc. Some flowers like hydrangea,
hibiscus can determine the acidic or basic nature of substances. 

Instructions for the activity:


 • Select any 2-3 natural indicators available at home. 
• Test any three acidic and three basic substances using these indicators
. • Record your activity in experimental format on A-4 sized sheets (white or coloured) 
• Experimental Format includes: Aim, materials required, theory, method, observation
table and result. 
• Also draw a beautiful pattern using these natural indicators.
 • Evaluation will be based upon the following the attributes: Presentation, Creativity,
Neatness and Originality
