• The Department of Health (DOH) is the
principal health agency in the Philippines.
• It is responsible for ensuring access to basic
public health services to all Filipinos through
the provision of quality health care and
regulation of providers of health goods and
services.

over-all technical authority on health as it is a
national health policy-maker and regulatory
institution.

•Organizes and makes all necessary arrangements for BAC meetings and conferences

•Reviews and evaluates contracts and other pertinent documents to
ensure compliance with the requirements under RA 9184
•Assists the COBAC in the conduct of suspension / blacklisting procedure
•Reviews changes in the contract and execute modifications to ensure
that the scope of work and terms and conditions are acceptable and are
consistent with the applicable and governing laws
•Prepares Notice of Awards (NOA), Purchase Order (PO) or Contract and
Notice to Proceed (NTP)
•Posts of NOA and NTP in the PhilGEPS website

Specific Functions
