CHANNEL USING MATLAB SIMULINK

Aim:Implementation of Different Fading Channel using MATLAB Simulink

Problem Statement:TO UNDERSTAND THE DIFFERENT FADING CHANNEL

Tool Used:MATLAB

Theory:
Rayleigh fading is a statistical model for the effect of
a propagation environment on a radio signal, such as that used
by wireless devices.
Rayleigh fading models assume that the magnitude of a signal that has passed
through such a transmission medium (also called a communication channel) will
vary randomly, or fade, according to a Rayleigh distribution — the radial
component of the sum of two uncorrelated Gaussian random variables.
Rayleigh fading is viewed as a reasonable model
for tropospheric and ionospheric signal propagation as well as the effect of
heavily built-up urban environments on radio signals.

Inference:

Rayleigh fading is a model that can be used to describe the form of fading that
occurs when multipath propagation exists. In any terrestrial environment a radio
signal will travel via a number of different paths from the transmitter to the
receiver. The most obvious path is the direct, or line of sight path.

phenomena in wireless communications. These phenomena include multipath

scattering effects, time dispersion, and Doppler shifts that arise from relative
motion between the transmitter and receiver.

Rayleigh fading is caused by multipath reception. The mobile antenna receives

a large number, say N, reflected and scattered waves. Because of wave
cancellation effects, the instantaneous received power seen by a moving antenna
becomes a random variable, dependent on the location of the antenna.
