toy: Beetle Bzuk Crochet Pattern

Material and tools:


- Yarn with approx. 100m/50g (Cotton)
o < 50g White o < 20g Orange
o < 50g Blue o < 20g Yellow
o < 20g Red o < 10g Green
o < 20g Black
- Stuffing (Polyester Filling)
- Empty „Kinder surprise“ and few beads. We make a rattle and insert it into the body of the beetle.
- 2 plastic eyes with security lock (9-10mm) or two black beads
- Crochet hook size 3,5mm / F or size as specified on the yarn
- Wool needle
- „C“ hook or clip for hanging to the pram

Abbreviations
[brackets] – repeat instruction within brackets as often as given after brackets or to the end of the round or row
(round brackets) – count of stitches done in this round or row
Number in front of an abbreviation – number of stitches to crochet
CH – chain Sc2tog – single crochet 2 together (1 stitch decreased)

General notes

The beginning of each part


There are two options (I always use the second option. There are no holes at the beginning if you use the loop):
1. Start with chain 2 and work every first round into the first stitch made.
2. Start with a magic circle (adjustable loop) and work number of stitches in the first round into the loop.

Changing rounds
Do not replace crochet stiches by chain stiches at the beginning of each row. Instead make endless spiral. Crochet a first
stitch of the row in first stitch of previous round. Use a stitch marker to remember of the beginning of the round. How to
mark beginning of a row is demonstrated on pictures below.

Loose ends
At the beginning and the end of a piece leave a tail of at least 15 cm or even longer, because most of these can be used
for sewing. Loose ends you do not use anymore can be pulled through some stitches on the inside of the piece and cut
off.

Cord for hanging


Work with green yarn.

Crochet 24 chains, then crochet 1 HDC in third chain from hook and continue 1 HDC in every CH.(22)

Hair
For the hair we needto prepare a bobblefrom yellow yarn. How to create a bobble can you find on page 8.

Sewing
Now we have all the parts we need to complete the bunny and we can start sewing.

1. First sew the cord and legs together. Two legs on one cord (on both ends).
2. Sew the head and the body together.
3. Then sew the Legs on the body.
4. Sew the wings on the body.
5. Sew the cord for hanging on the body. At the end sew the „C“ hook or clip.
6. Sew the hair on the head.

Your beetle Bzuk is now finished!
