STUDENT’S UNDERTAKING FOR BLENDED LEARNING

I ( Genesis M. Borromeo), a student of Philippine Normal University (PNU), taking (General


Education) with student ID no. (UGI202100939) and email address
(borromeo.gm@stud.pnu.edu.ph) am taking part in this undertaking exercise because the
policies listed herein will help me learn and perform well in this course for this academic
period (SY 21-22 Term 1).  

I understand that access to the technology used in my online courses that is provided by
the University is a privilege that offers abundant information and resources for learning
but demands certain responsibilities and obligations that have legal and ethical
consequences.    Use of this privilege must respect the rights of persons especially on their
data privacy and must not be used to violate individuals’ freedom from intimidation,
harassment, and unwarranted annoyance.  It should further demonstrate respect for the
system security protocols and for physical and intellectual property rights especially
software copyright and licenses and thus, as a bonafide PNUan, I do hereby pledge and
guarantee compliance on the following:

Acceptable Use Policy

1. My use of internet and online resources must be consistent with the vision and mission of
PNU. 

2. I will use resources provided for online courses for its intended and authorized purposes
only, and refrain to abuse or misuse them.

3. I will exhibit exemplary behavior on the network as a representative of PNU and endeavor
at all times to use appropriate and respectful language in all communications.

4. I am liable for any improper use of the internet and/or email.

5. I understand that anything done online and on the computer can be retrieved and printed
any time, hence extreme caution must always be taken in revealing any type of information
of a personal nature.

6. I am expected to protect the rights and privacy of my teacher and classmates and thus
publishing or distributing any personal information to those outside of class members is
inappropriate.

7. I will respect other computer users and follow the proper codes of conduct, written or
implicit rules pertaining to online etiquette or netiquette.
8. I will advocate responsible use of online resources, will not seek to gain unauthorized
access or exceed authorized access to it and will not attempt to bypass security or system
protocols.
 
9. I will report suspected violations of this Acceptable Use Policy within the PNU system and
direct this to the system’s Director, or to any of the Institute Directors, Associate or Deputy
Deans, Deans, Vice Presidents or to the President of the University.

Academic Honor Policy

1. I understand plagiarism or presenting the work of another as my own is unacceptable and I


agree that all work submitted must represent my original ideas and/or I will appropriately
cite all relevant sources if the idea or ideas are not completely from me. Failure to do so can
result in receiving a failing grade for the assignment or possibly for the course. 

2. I understand that some online group activities require team effort hence I must make a
valuable contribution to group tasks and must also be responsible to ensure the integrity of
the work submitted by the group where I belong;

3. I understand that the activities taking place in an online course are valuable and that I am
going to do my best to complete all assignments/ tasks/ activities on time with the quality
expected from a PNUan.

4. I understand that academic honor excludes (i) cheating or the improper access or use of
information/material not tolerated by the teacher or professor for use in the academic
exercise and (ii) intentionally helping another in an act of academic dishonesty.

Course Progress Expectations

1. I am aware that my attendance for my online course is measured mainly by learning the
outcomes of my course evidenced by successfully completing and submitting required
tasks, assignments, activities and assessments.

2. I understand that all assignments and projects need to be completed on or before the due
dates.

3. I need to plan/make arrangements and work ahead if family or job responsibilities and/or
personal activities will limit my attention and participation on my scheduled course
activities at any given time.

4. I understand that any assignment submitted beyond the due date may not receive full
credit. Points may be deducted from late assignments’ scores/grades. Blank submissions
are not considered submitted assignments.
5. I understand that I am expected to communicate with my teacher on a regular basis and read
any email/message/announcement that the teacher sends via the specific communication platform or
modality agreed in the class.
