4 EXAMPLES OF
BEHAVIORAL
QUESTIONS AND
ANSWERS

MICHAL ČERNÁČEK
1. TELL ME ABOUT A TIME WHEN YOU HAD TO WORK WITH A DIFFICULT TEAM
MEMBER. HOW DID YOU HANDLE THE SITUATION?

Answer:

"I once had to work on a project with a team member who had
a very different communication style than I did. They were
very direct and could come across as confrontational, while I
tend to be more reserved. I realized that this was causing
some tension between us, so I decided to schedule a one-on-
one meeting with them to discuss our communication styles.
During the meeting, I expressed my concerns and we were
able to come to an understanding. From that point on, we
made a conscious effort to communicate in a way that worked
for both of us, and we were able to successfully complete the
project."
2. GIVE AN EXAMPLE OF A PROJECT YOU WORKED ON THAT REQUIRED STRONG
PROBLEM-SOLVING SKILLS.

Answer:

"I was once tasked with leading a project to improve efficiency

in our manufacturing process. We were experiencing a lot of
delays and bottlenecks that were causing us to miss delivery
deadlines. I brought together a cross-functional team and we
conducted a thorough analysis of the entire process,
identifying the root causes of the delays. We then developed
and implemented a series of process improvements, such as
implementing a new scheduling system and streamlining our
inventory management. As a result, we were able to reduce
delays by 30% and improve on-time delivery by 20%.
3. DESCRIBE A SITUATION IN WHICH YOU HAD TO MAKE A DIFFICULT
DECISION. HOW DID YOU GO ABOUT MAKING THE DECISION?

Answer:

"I was once in a situation where my company had to make a

decision about whether to continue investing in a particular
product line. The product had been underperforming for
several quarters, but it also had a loyal customer base. I
gathered data on the product's sales and customer feedback,
and then held a meeting with my team to discuss the pros and
cons of continuing to invest in the product. We also
considered the potential impact on our employees and the
company as a whole. After careful consideration and
discussion, I recommended that we phase out the product
over time, while also looking for ways to support affected
employees.
4. TELL ME ABOUT A TIME WHEN YOU HAD TO HANDLE MULTIPLE TASKS AT
ONCE. HOW DID YOU PRIORITIZE AND MANAGE YOUR TIME?

Answer:

"I was once in a situation where I was juggling multiple

projects at once, all with tight deadlines. To manage my time
effectively, I started by creating a list of all the tasks I needed
to complete and then prioritizing them based on their level of
importance and urgency. I then broke down each task into
smaller, manageable steps and set specific deadlines for each
step. I also made sure to schedule regular check-ins with my
team members and stakeholders to ensure that we were on
track. I also made use of time management tools such as
calendars, alarms, and to-do lists to keep me on track and
stay organized. Through effective time management, I was
able to successfully complete all of my projects on time.
