46 startups declared winners of National Startup Awards 2021

Forty-six startups have been named the winners of the National Startup Awards 2021 along with incubator Access

Livelihoods Foundation and accelerator India Accelerator. The winning startups include AgniKul Cosmos, Unnati
Educare and Square Panda among others. The government received applications from 2,177 startups across 49
sub-sectors including agriculture, drinking water, education and fintech.

Adani Group to foray into electric vehicles manufacturing

Gautam Adani's logistics-to-energy conglomerate wants to enter into electric vehicles segment with brand 'Adani'
registered. The Group plans to make electric commercial vehicles—coaches, buses and trucks that would be used
in-house requirements at Adani-owned airports and ports.

Air India officially handed over to Tata Group after 69 years

Air India was officially handed over to Tata Group on 27th January 2022, nearly 69 years after its nationalisation.
Ahead of the handover, Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran met PM Narendra Modi. Tata Group won the bid to
buy the airline, which it founded in 1932, for ₹18,000 crore. It has completed a cash payment of ₹2,700 crore.

Amar Jawan Jyoti To Be Put Out, "Merged" With War Memorial Torch

After burning for 50 years, the eternal flame of Amar Jawan Jyoti at the India Gate lawns will be extinguished
forever. The torch will now be merged with the National War Memorial's torch at a programme today, days ahead
of the Republic Day. Sources said the decision was taken after it was found that the upkeep of two flames is
becoming increasingly difficult.

Amazon's first physical clothing store in US to deliver clothes to fitting rooms

Amazon will open its first-ever physical clothing store 'Amazon Style' in Los Angeles. Customers will be able to add
items to their fitting rooms through an app by scanning QR codes. When they reach fitting rooms, their selected
items will already be there and they can get more items delivered to their fitting room using a touchscreen in the
room.

Anxiety' is Oxford University Press' Children's Word of the Year 2021

The Oxford University Press has declared 'Anxiety' as Children's Word of the Year 2021. Eight thousand children in
the UK were surveyed and asked to choose the words they would use when talking about health and wellbeing.
Previous Oxford University Press' Children's Word of the Year include coronavirus (2020), Brexit (2019), plastic
(2018), Trump (2017), and refugee (2016).

Apple becomes first company to hit $3 trillion market value, then slips

Apple Inc became the first company to hit a $3 trillion stock market value, before ending the day a hair below that
milestone, as investors bet the iPhone maker will keep launching best-selling products as it explores new markets
such as automated cars and virtual reality.

CES 2022 closes its hybrid show, touting 40,000 attendees despite many going
digital

CES 2022 wraps up on 8th Jan, with the Consumer Technology Association boasting of 40,000 attendees and 2,300
exhibitors while also offering a digital experience for attendees who did not travel to Las Vegas amid COVID-19
