This is Dwyane S. Buctolan, a grade 3 student of Dilapa Elementary School. He has a difficulty in
regards of spelling words, especially if in distinguishing the letters W and Y.
First Session

We give some words to spell to the pupil orally while letting him see the words so that he recognizes
the letters on it. At first, we don’t know that he is having recognizing the letters W and Y. We let him
speak orally the spelling of each words while letting him see the words.
Second Session

For the session, to further the knowledge of the pupil. We gave the same example of words to him but
different activity. We held some fill in the blanks spelling of the words then let him fill in the letters
missing through speaking orally. We will speak the word first and let him see the word with blank
space which he will provide the letters to fill in and complete the word.

Third Session
For the 3rd session, as an evaluation of our first 2 sessions, we have a spelling activity. We let the
pupil spell out the words we have on the example, we removed the part in which we let him see the
examples or fill in the blank. We held a normal spelling activity.
Fourth Session

For the fourth session, we introduce new words to the pupil which focuses on his difficulties. We held
a spelling activity which was divided into two parts. First spelling while he is looking in the words, then
the second part is that we use fill in the blank methods just like in session two.
Fifth Session

In the last session, we recall all the words we use for him to spell, we pick up some of it for
our last activity, which is oral spelling. We choose ten words of all the exampled words we use. We let
him spell the words through speaking, most of the words we use contains the letters W and Y.
Description after Remedial Activity

After the activity, we can see the improvement of the learner. He now recognizes the
letters W and Y when we use it in a word, he can spell the words with W and Y correctly even if it
takes for him a longer time to answer especially on the oral spelling activity that we held during our
last session of remedial. At first, when we let him spell the words with letters W and Y, he can’t
distinguish if the letter W or Y is correct. Now after the session, he thinks longer although sometimes
he spelled the words wrong, he can easily manage to think that the word is using the letter W or Y in
oral spelling. He can also spell the words correctly even though it has many erasures when we let him
have a spelling activity in written.
