A Methodology for the Development of Distance Learning

Tasks Adaptable to the Student's Learning Style. Procedia-Social and Behavioral Sciences, 141,
518-523.
A. SUMMARY
The current health crisis poses a profound impact on the basic education system as we are
experiencing the evolution in which students require more resources and instruments to get
information and develop knowledge and one such resource is the usage of distance learning
environments in which the teacher assigns additional assignments to aid in the comprehension of
previously learned concepts. Because students require activities to pique their interest in a topic
and involve them in the learning process, these activities must be tailored to the nature of their
learning behavior. This research proposes implies the design of learning activities with the same
learning objective but with different representation, according to the student’s preferred style.

The similarities of the reviewed study with our present study is the usage of distance learning
with good reason. The differences of the two study is that the one I reviewed focused on the
different learning methods that adapts the learning style of the students while our current study
focused about on the perceptions of students about the modular distance learning that applies in
remote area.

B. STRENGHTS AND LIMITATION

The strength reviewed study proposes the following types of activities according to the
combination of student learning styles or to satisfy the student’s preferences. The methodology
was tested in two rounds, with representative users providing input on their experiences with it.
The limitations for me showed in the reviewed study is that the methods presented in figure used
are too broad. No theoretical background found.

C. INSIGHTS
This research study is very useful especially in this new normal situation. In order to ensure the
continuity of education, the distance learning will be the alternative way. This research will be a
big help in our recent topic because this is all about the methodology for the development of
learning tasks adaptable to the student’s learning style, where we can apply such methodology to
enhance the modular learning modality.
