For this task, I decided to watch a pot of water boil.

I chose a three-quart pot and filled it with cold

water until it was 3/4 full before setting it on the fire. I'm cooking on a gas range. I'm watching things
and observing them.

 As the burner is on, I can smell the oven.

 My face and arms are feeling the heat from the burner.
 At around the three-minute mark, I can see little bubbles beginning to develop on the bottom of
the pot as I look inside.
 I can see ripples of heat coming up through the water as I keep an eye on the surface.
 Although I'm not yet tasting anything, the heat and heated water's aroma reminds me of mac
and cheese. 6. As the water heats, I can almost taste the macaroni and cheese.
 At six minutes, I can see steam rising and the bubbles are getting bigger.
 Beginning to rise to the surface are bubbles.
 On my hands and face, I can already feel the steam.
 At seven and a half minutes in, the bubbles are rising more quickly.
 More steam is rising, and the bubbles are becoming a little bigger and rising more frequently.
 The water is beginning to hiss faintly as it approaches boiling.
 Rapidly rising bubbles are emerging on the bottom and sides of the container.
 The surface is covered in bubbles, and a great deal of steam is rising.
 Eleven minutes and forty seconds later, the water is rollingly boiling.
