The document describes someone watching a pot of water boil over 11 minutes and 40 seconds as they make observations about the changing bubbles, steam, sounds, and smells. At around 3 minutes small bubbles began on the bottom of the pot. By 6 minutes steam was rising and bubbles were bigger. At 7.5 minutes bubbles rose more quickly and steam increased. Finally, at 11 minutes and 40 seconds, the water was rolling and boiling.

For this task, I decided to watch a pot of water boil.
I chose a three-quart pot and filled it with cold
water until it was 3/4 full before setting it on the fire. I'm cooking on a gas range. I'm watching things and observing them.
As the burner is on, I can smell the oven.
My face and arms are feeling the heat from the burner. At around the three-minute mark, I can see little bubbles beginning to develop on the bottom of the pot as I look inside. I can see ripples of heat coming up through the water as I keep an eye on the surface. Although I'm not yet tasting anything, the heat and heated water's aroma reminds me of mac and cheese. 6. As the water heats, I can almost taste the macaroni and cheese. At six minutes, I can see steam rising and the bubbles are getting bigger. Beginning to rise to the surface are bubbles. On my hands and face, I can already feel the steam. At seven and a half minutes in, the bubbles are rising more quickly. More steam is rising, and the bubbles are becoming a little bigger and rising more frequently. The water is beginning to hiss faintly as it approaches boiling. Rapidly rising bubbles are emerging on the bottom and sides of the container. The surface is covered in bubbles, and a great deal of steam is rising. Eleven minutes and forty seconds later, the water is rollingly boiling.
