Rare Culture is a channel that is composed of a

group of people that are members of the
government think tank tasked to develop
solutions and alternative mechanism to problems
associated with global food security.
ON-CAM - Riquelen Hello and what’s up people of the Philippines!!!
Welcome back to our channel and for today’s
video we will discuss matters involving Global
Food Security.
ON-CAM - Quisha That’s right! And to serve as guidelines for our
discussion today, we will be answering the
following questions~

QUISHA VOICEOVER:
1. What are the problems encountered What are the problems encountered by the
by the government in ensuring that government in ensuring that everyone has

2. Considering many factors, what

alternative solutions can the Considering many factors, what alternative
government institutionalize? solutions can the government institutionalize?

ON-CAM - Riquelen Now, to answer these questions I’ll be passing

the mic to our correspondents~

QUESTION 1~ (Sound effects)

ON-CAM - Loryn There are several challenges that governments
face in ensuring that everyone has access to
food. This includes the following~

TEXT: Affordability LORYN VOICEOVER:

ANIMATION/PICTURES Affordability: Food insecurity often occurs in low-

income communities where individuals cannot
afford to buy enough food to meet their needs.
TEXT: Availability/Production Shortfall Availability/Production Shortfall: In some areas,
there may be limited access to a diverse range of
ON-CAM – Rizza nutritious foods, especially in rural or remote
areas where the production of goods is limited.

RIZZA VOICEOVER:
TEXT: Distribution
Distribution: Even if food is available, it may not
ANIMATION/PICS be distributed effectively, leading to food
wastage, shortage, and inefficiencies in the food
system.

TEXT: Storage Storage: Perishable foods may not be stored

properly, leading to waste and decreased
availability.
ON – CAM - Rheamae
TEXT: Climate Change RHEAMAE VOICEOVER:

Climate change impacts like Destructive

ANIMATION/PICS Typhoons: Extreme weather events and
changing climate patterns can impact food
production and availability. Especially here in the
Philippines where typhoons can really be
destructive to crops and plantations.

ON – CAM - IVAN To address these challenges, governments can

consider the following alternative solutions:

QUESTION 2~
ON – CAM - JANINE Implementing food assistance programs, such as
“feedings” in schools, to temporarily provide for
children lacking food and nutrition.
ANIMATIONS/PICS AVRILE VOICEOVER:

Investing in infrastructure to improve access to

nutritious foods in underserved areas can be
done as well. Such as building roads or food
storages that would make distributing and storing
food through distant markets easier.

ON – CAM - AVRILE Moreover, implementing policies or regulations

should also be considered.
This is to improve the efficiency of the food
distribution system, such as reducing food waste
or increasing the production, distribution, and
consumption of locally grown foods.

ANIMATION/PICS BRITNEY VOICEOVER:

Every government should try to make sure

people do not go hungry. Hence, national
governments can make policies that promote the
use of land for family farms.

ON – CAM - Britney Another way is investing in research and

development – this is to improve food production,
distribution, storage and preservation
technologies.
ANIMATION/PICS BRITNEY VOICEOVER:

In addition, developing and implementing policies

to address climate change and its impacts on
food production and availability should also be
realized.

ANIMATION/PICS GWEN VOICEOVER:

As such, contingency plans and movements
against pollution of farmlands are important.
ON-CAM - GWEN We should reduce dirty water around the farm.
Improve supplement use, carry out a land risk
appraisal for slurry and excrement, and manage
water edges and irrigation.
ON-CAM - JANINE Biodiversity is vital for the direction of
environment forms and delivery of environment
administrations. Thus, increasing biodiversity,
especially natural life populations, can advantage
ranchers by progressing agricultural efficiency
potential.
ON-CAM - IVAN Lastly, programs like enforcing closed fishing
season to boost supply of aquatic resources,
providing support services like agricultural loans
and empowering small farmers, and educating
them for more sustainable farming practices can
be done.
ON-CAM - JANINE And that ends our video, thank you so much for
watching! Kindly like, comment and subscribe!
ON-CAM - IVAN Have a great day everyone! Stay safe and God
Bless!
