1. The first image shows a venn diagram, about how environmental, social and economic factors
contribute altogether to accomplish sustainability.
2. This image show a set of rocks stacked up together. To relate it to the concept of sustainability,
we must consider that the rocks are upright due to proper balance. With this I can say that the
concept of sustainability being tackled is balance in all aspects. Sustainability is the capacity to
endure in a relatively on-going way across various domains of life. It can be said that in order to
attain global sustainability we must first acquire balance in all aspects of society that contributes
to sustainability.
Analysis:
1. Differentiate stability from sustainability based from the picture given in activity 1.
Stability is the condition of being stable or in equilibrium, and thus resistant to change or
disturbances brought up by external factors while sustainability is the ability to sustain
something or to provide the needs for surviving for a long period of time

Environmental- Biosafety Information Network and Advisory Services (BINAS), Vienna. BINAS is a service

sciences, culture, and communication and information. Its policies, programmes and projects provide
opportunities and have significant impacts (positive and negative) for indigenous peoples worldwide.
2. What are the effects of the policies implemented on the local (Philippines) and international arena?
The policies implemented on the local and international arena tend to lean on the positive side
because they help maintain the balance and helps to promote sustainability in a large scale. But
some of these policies can trample small time businesses and in turn makes some of the peoples
live miserable although this policies are for the greater good of humanity

Analysis. Answer the following statements/questions by writing it in the boxes provided. You may use
other sheet of paper if you would like.
Instruction: What are the problems or challenges in your community in which food security is concern?
Give at least 5. What are the possible solutions of these problems and challenges? Write your answers in
the diagram below.
Direction: In the answer sheet provided, answer the following self-reflection statement.
1. The Global Food Security programme brings together the UK's major public funders to solve these
issues, increasing research cooperation and collaboration and making it easier to translate findings into
policy and practice.
2. Climate change has the potential to drastically alter the distribution and severity of pests and diseases
in crops and livestock, posing a serious threat to food production and animal welfare. Every year, about
a third of the food produced for human consumption is lost or wasted, whether early in the supply chain
due to pests and diseases, or late in the supply chain due to post-harvest losses.
3. Signatories to the Paris Agreement pledge to keep global average temperature rises well below 2°C
above pre-industrial levels, with a goal of 1.5°C. Emissions across all industries must therefore fall by
more than 80% by 2050 (ref 8), with even greater reductions needed to meet the 1.5°C goal.
2. More mouths to feed means an increasing population. The world's population is growing wealthier,
and wealthier people prefer to consume more and demand food that requires a lot of resources to
produce, such as meat and dairy.
3. Overweight, obesity, and diet-related non-communicable diseases like cardiovascular disease, stroke,
some cancers, and type 2 diabetes are on the rise in every country, in developed and developing
countries alike. Overweight or obese people currently account for more than half of the world's
population, with the two together accounting for more than half of the world's population
1. On current trends, the food system is expected to account for the majority of the 2°C GHG emissions
budget, leaving little space for other sectors and rendering meeting the Paris Agreement nearly
impossible.
2. Climate change would exacerbate the problem by reducing the nutritional value of wheat, tubers, and
legumes, impacting essential nutrients like zinc and iron.
3. Food security is achieved when everyone has access to enough safe and nutritious food to fulfill their
needs for a healthy life in ways that are sustainable for the world. Food security, on the other hand,
faces a range of challenges in both development and use, which will necessitate more study.

culture is the reflection of society. Culture a way of life or a way of doing things that is shared by
a group of people. It is the aggregate of a group's, organization's, or society's common attitudes,
principles, priorities, and practices.

an image of the map of the world.
