Discuss the state of our climate health and explain why the situation is quite

serious

The earth has been severely damaged for a long period. Among all the diseases
which force our planet to the edge of death, climate change, causing high
temperatures on the ground, is a toxic dagger that stabs this planet in every fragile
part. This essay will discuss the feeble and weakened state of our climate health
resulting from the rise of greenhouse gas, and the reason why it is quite serious is that
the balanced ecosystem is gradually collapsing.

To begin with, the increase in CO2 level accelerates the detrimental effect of
climate change. In the article, “The state of the climate in 2021”, the author argues
that “by the end of this century levels of CO2 will be 800ppm and there was no ice on
the planet then it was 12C warmer” (Siegert, p2). Also, “in 2020, the amount of CO2
in the atmosphere reached record levels, hitting 417 parts per million in May”
(Gerretsen, p1). Besides, “on the Eurasian side of the Arctic Circle, the ice did not
freeze until the end of October, which is usually late” (Stroeve, p3). These three
pieces of evidence show that the emission of CO2 is rising every year. It is not an
ideal and controllable situation because the massive release of CO2 would shape a
large and thick blanket. The wide blanket covers the atmosphere and obstructs the
heat, brought by the sunlight, from dissipating from the earth's surface. If the heat
remains at ground level, the temperature will soar sharply. The high temperature is
likely to lead to formidable problems including iceberg melting and sea level rising.
These changes whittle the health of the climate because they negatively affect the
ocean and inland equilibrium, which play a vital role in forming the climate.
Therefore, plenty of CO2 blending in the atmosphere will considerably impair the
health of the climate.

In addition, poor health conditions of the climate will finally devastate the
ecosystem. In the article, “Climate Change Poses Challenges to Plants and Animals”,
the author illustrates that “the changing conditions can lead to mismatches of life
cycle events, making growth or survival more difficult when babies are born or
migrating animals arrive before or after their food is available” (Cho, p3). Meanwhile,
“resulting changes in stream flow and temperature can damage habitat and stress fish
and wildlife, disrupting their life cycle” (Gerretsen, p2). Moreover, “because of
changing food availability and environmental conditions, the birds on the northern
range are more stressed” (Boelman, p5). These three pieces of evidence demonstrate
that climate change delays or goes ahead with the life cycle of animals. If the time of
the life cycle does not match, there will be an insufficient food supply. At the same
time, less available food would stress the wild animals. More importantly, the
shortage of food would reduce the number of newborn animals. If the number of
certain prey decreases, carnivores that lived on them will starve. Therefore, the food
web would be adversely influenced, and it will result in the instability of the biome,
which would destroy the whole ecosystem. Hence, an unhealthy climate would ruin
the ecosystem.

Furthermore, the earth requires an emergent treatment to recover from pernicious

damage. In the poem, “Mother Earth”, the author explains that the land we live on is
giving birth to different species (Valdez, line 2). Also, in the article, “Climate Change
Poses Challenges to Plants and Animals”, the writer describes that the number of
certain animals is decreasing due to the rise in global temperature. They migrated to
cooler areas but without a sufficient food supply (Cho, p5). Similarly, in the article,
“The state of the climate in 2021”, the author claims that humans are accelerating the
collapse of the earth. The toxic fumes from the high factory chimney and implacable
water pollution force the earth to extinguish (Gerretsen, p4). These three pieces of
evidence depict that the earth is contaminated by waste, pollution, and poison. These
harmful substances are all the aftermath of human behaviours. Although this planet
has been spoilt badly, human beings still neglect the significance of climate change
and natural mutations. Hence, the earth eagerly demands a quick panacea to recover.

In conclusion, based on the analysis above, the thesis statement is reaffirmed that
the rise of CO2 levels is weakening the health of the climate and poor climate health
will break the ecosystem. It is our duty to protect this planet from extinction, and
human beings must pay for their blunders!
