III. RETRIEVING AN OAFS RECORD IN VRS FOR BIOMETRICS CAPTURE

After restoring the contents of the OAFS-extracted records in the dump file
from the Internal Website to a USB flash drive, and eventually into the VRM,
you are now ready to retrieve a concerned applicant’s OAFS record in the
VRS for the purpose of biometrics capture.

You will need both OAFSimport and VRS to accomplish this.

1. An applicant arrives at the VRM operator with a printed accomplished OAF from
the Official COMELEC Website.
2. The VRM Operator should inspect the printed OAF to verify the Appointment Date.
2.1 If the Appointment Date has already lapsed, or if there is indicated
Appointment Date on the OAF, the VRM Operator should decide whether to
accept the applicant for biometrics as Priority status or to let him/her line up
for the manual process.
3. Using the VRM, run OAFSimport from the desktop.
4. From the opening screen, right click on the data grid to display the short cut
menu, and click on Search.
5. Type the applicant’s name from the printed OAF accordingly on the Search
window, and click on the Search button afterwards.

6. To import or transfer record to VRS, right-click on selected record and click on

Import. The screen will display a message for confirmation of the user.

7. Click Yes to continue or No to cancel the process.

8. A message will inform user if the process has been successful.

8.1 Click OK button.

9. Close OAFSimport.
10. Using the same workstation, execute VRS.
11. Search for the name of the applicant.
12. When the record has been retrieved in VRS, you may proceed with biometrics
capture for the concerned applicant.
