Autumn in 2018

This holiday wasn’t that short as an Autumn holiday, but it was eventful.
On the first day my parents and I went to Cyprus. But there was an extra thing in this journey, my
grandfathers came with us and they have never flown with plane before. My grandfathers and my
parents stayed in an apartmant for this long weekend and I could sleep in my sister’s house wich is
really cosy We went there for four days exactly to Pafos. It’s the 4th bigest city on the island. Cyprus
is a middlesized island on the Aegan part of the Mediterranean Sea. You can find the island near to
Syria and Israel. The South-West part (the bigger side) of it belongs to Greek, but it’s an independent
state called the Republic of Cyprus. The North-East part of the island belongs to Turkey. The capital,
Nicosia is on the borderline, and Turkey is not part of the EU, so you need a passport if you want to
walk to the other side of the capital.
Cyprus has a mediterran climate, that means it’s much hotter there, than in Hungary. There is a
big disparate inconnection with the plants. There are almost palms and cactuses living wild. It’s a
really ineresting thing that they grow as many bananas as many gains we grow in Hungary. There are
also many mediteraine fruits like oranges, olive, grape, anise, lemon, pomelo, lime, pomegranate and
pinapple.
For this four day we stayed at Pafos (this is how the Greeks write) or Paphos, which is located on the
South coast of the greek Cyprus, so we could go to the beach every day. The plane landed on
Saturday, at about nine am. This day we looked around the city and we had a dinner in one of the
restaurants at the citycentre. From there we could see the amazing beach. The view was beatiful
from there and as long as the eye did, you could just see the sea until you reach the Horizon. One day
we went for a car tour, wich we rent from a Hungarian man who has been living there for 16 years. It
was a bit bit a difficult to my father to drive on the left side with a right side wheel. After we reached
the outskirt of Pafos we stopped at the coach exactly on very big cliffes. The weather was a bit windy
and waves got really tall, but not enough to reach us. There we could see at the west coast called
Lara Beach. This is the most popular coach among the sea turtles in may when they’re laying their
eggs. They always do a big hole to protect their eggs, but this is a trouble for the babys when they
brake out of the eggs. The next difficult thing is making their way to the water. It’s not too easy,
because of the other animals like birds and crabs. The reason is, these animals are really dangerous
for the little turtles. There was an other stop where we could see the birthplace of Afrodithe how the
legend says and she is the god of love and buty.
After we arrived from Cyprus we brought the grandpas and ourself straight home. Next they is a
national holiday that we call Mindenszentek, when we respect our dead relatives the most and we
commemorate of them and we take flowers, candles and wreathes on their grave.
And this week it’s the event of Halloween, that isn’t a national Holiday in Hungary, but I can get
free sweets with my friends and its a great fun.
I think this is all that happened during this 10 day. I think it was a great Holiday that I enjoyed
really much.
