Summer holidays

Holidays seem short but it is quite enough for me and my friends to go to holidayhouse or another city for a change. Summer holidays are wonderful. There are many long
sunny days. There is no school. There are new friends and many interesting things to see
and to do. Vacations are the best time to relax and enjoy with family and friends, its the
time I eagerly waited for every year.
This year my summer holiday was absolutely gorgeous! I've been waiting for so
long for the end of the school, because I felt like I need some time far away from home
and from my problems too. At the beginning of this summer holiday, I spent some time
with my friends and then I went to Greece. In Corfu, to be more precisely. From the
moment when I landed on the airport, I was so excited, but still confused.Things got a
little clearer when I arrived at the hotel, the sea was so beautiful, a lot of people were
having fun at the pool bar.The swimming pool was also beautiful, throughout I didn't
spend a lot of time there.
Greece is a traditional summer destination for thousands of people. Being considered the
birthplace of democracy, Western philosophy, there are many things to do and to visit
there. Corfu, one of the most popular Greek islands attracts thousands of tourists. Besides
being one of the most popular tourist destinations Corfu is also protected by UNESCO
for its historic prominence. There is a lot to do and see here: from exploring amazing
architecture with a cable car, visiting exciting summer festivals, to sailing and relaxing on
the beaches.
Though sea, sun and sand are the same, people try to go to different places every year,
because fauna and flora and the air are different.Spending holidays on the beach is a great
rest though many people combine sunbathing with visiting museums and places of
interest.
Sometimes in summer, me and my friends go on a long journey in Europe. We visit
ancient European towns or go on a boat-trip on the Danube. I like boat-trips very much.
The boat drops on anchor at every important town.We visit the places of interest and have
a chance to learn more about the history of this or that town or place. But mostly we
spend the summer holidays in the country. In my opinion there is nothing like the
countryside. We have cousins who live in the countryside. Their home is in a nice place
near the Retezat Mountains. Every day we feed the horses and go riding.I like to sit in
silence for a while and listening to the bird singing in the trees. When it was very hot, me
and my friends usually went to the forest. The air is cool and fresh there.I like to walk in

the shade of the trees and pick mushrooms and berries.

But time passed quickly and soon we had to make our way back. We returned home
sunburnt and full of impressions. The vacation was over and I was back to school but my
mind was still remembering the sweet memories of the summer vacation. My summer
holiday was perfect, I hope that next summer will be exactly like this one, or who knows?
