Story: Two Happy Mothers
 There were no cars, travelling is done by riding
a donkey or on foot
 Mary was anxious that Gabriel told him that
Elizabeth travelled by hill into the city of Juda
 She found Elizabeth and her husband,
Zacharias at the hill
 Elizabeth and her husband are praying for a
baby
 1 day, six months before, Zacharias is a
priest in the Temple, Angel Gabriel appeared
before him telling that his wife, Elizabeth will
bear a son and shall be called John
 John the Baptist – will be filled by the Holy
Ghost
 Both Zacharias and Elizabeth are very old so
they are barren
 Angel Gabriel stood in the presence of God
and brought glad tidings (good news)
 Angel Gabriel said that Zacharias would be
dumb, and will not be able to speak until the
baby is born
 Mary told her story and she’s sure that it was
Gabriel who had spoken to Elizabeth
 Gabriel’s message: Blessed are thou among
women
 Mary stayed in the home of Zacharias for 3
months until Elizabeth’s baby will be born
 After Zacharias wrote His name is John he
was no longer dumb and he talked about God
with praise
 John means “Prophet of the Highest”
 Jesus means “Savior” or “Son of the
Highest”
Lesson: Nothing is impossible with God even
though Elizabeth and Zacharias are old they were
faithful that God will give them a son.

 After the birth of John, Mary returned to
Nazareth, where Joseph is waiting for her
 Mary told Joseph what had happened

 As Mary was telling this to Joseph, he got
worried and thought if Mary was actually telling
the truth if she really saw an Angel
 Angel Gabriel visited Joseph in his dreams
and told him not to get worried
 It was in the dream that the baby be named
