• The word “faith” in the old testament it means “to hold fast”. Our faith depends on our actions too, if we just say that we have faith in God but we have different behavior then our faith is not growing.
• Faith is seeing and believing something
things we haven't seen. For example, beliefs about Jesus Christ that you have never seen physically but believe in Him based on Biblical testimony. 4 Biblical Examples of Faith: • Noah • Abraham • The Canaanite Woman • The Centurion NOAH God told Noah to build an ark and Noah followed God’s command. Many people made fun of him and think that Noah was crazy. The pressure that he had to face was not easy to deal with, but Noah trusted in God. His faith didn’t waver in the face of pressure from the people, he focused to build the ark with faith in God. When the flood came, Noah and his family, and the animals were safe inside the ark and no one else survived except them. It flooded for 6 months and covered all the lands of the earth. ABRAHAM God told Abraham to leave his place and go to a foreign land, Abraham obeyed God’s word without questioning or complaining. Abraham went without clarity of direction and only relied on God’s promise and Abraham kept that promise. Abraham surrendered all his heart to God for his future. And because of this, he had to be separated from his relatives, family, and neighborhood to carry God’s command. Abraham faced many obstacles and difficulties. Then God asks Abraham to sacrifice his only child, Isaac. Abraham followed God’s command to sacrifice Isaac. However, God spared Isaac and replace him with a sacrificial animal. Through this test, Abraham is referred to as the Father of all believers. The Canaanite Woman (Matthew 15:21-28) The daughter of the Canaanite woman was possessed by a demon and suffered greatly. When she heard that Jesus was in her area, this woman immediately went there and asked Jesus to heal the girl's illness. The woman kept pleading with Jesus. At first, Jesus did not pay attention to her. The words of Jesus could actually hurt her so much, but the Canaanite woman didn't care; she continued to ask Jesus to help heal her child. Seeing the courage of the Canaanite woman, Jesus granted her request by curing her child’s illness. The Centurion (Luke 7:1-10) A servant of a Roman centurion is very ill. The Centurion loved his servant very much. He heard that Jesus was entering Capernaum city and sent a message to tell Jesus to help heal his servant. Jesus then granted the request. Knowing that Jesus is willing to heal his servant the Roman Centurion thought he didn’t deserve the presence of Jesus in his home. He only asked Jesus to heal his servant from afar. Because he believed without even having Jesus come to his house, Jesus praised the Roman centurion's "faith" and healed his sick servant. Characteristics of People Who Keep Faith: 1.
