Science Essay: Endangered Animal (Philippine Eagle)

The Philippine Eagle symbolizes strength and freedom. It is also one of the largest,

strongest, and rarest birds in the world with less than 400 breeding pairs left in the wild. The

Philippine eagle is declared the Philippine national bird. But the Eagle is endangered mainly

because of the loss of its habitat from deforestation.

Endangered species are most likely going to be extinct or non-existent in the future. The

Philippine Eagle is also known as the monkey-eating eagle it was believed to eat monkeys.

They have blue-gray eyes, a dark face with a creamy brown neck and crown, while Its back is

dark brown, and its underside and underwings are white. Their legs are yellow, with large,

powerful, and dark claws. The eagle plays a very essential role in keeping the balance in the

ecosystem. They are on top of the food chain and help regulate the species population. The

Philippine Eagles can only be found in the Philippines, in forests, specifically in steep areas.

But because of Deforestation or the decrease of forest areas for other uses such as

urbanization, has resulted in the loss of the eagle’s habitat that has bad consequences for the

species. Another reason why the Philippine eagles are the shooting of the Philippine Eagles.

But we can help prevent the Philippine Eagle’s extinction. Firstly, we can donate to

organizations or programs that help prevent its extinction. Second, if we ever see someone

that is trying to shoot or capture it, we can report them to the authorities.

The Philippine Eagle is an endangered species and if it ever becomes extinct then it will

have a big impact on the ecosystem for the eagle is on top of the food chain. The main

reasons for it being endangered is deforestation and capturing it. To help prevent its
extinction we can donate to programs or organizations that help the Philippine Eagles and we

can report people who do suspicious activities like trying to shoot animals or capturing them.
