Care for our Warriors Manual was launched in 2020 to ensure that our members are abreast about the facts of
COVID – 19 and the ways and means to manage COVID – 19. Over the last one year, we have encountered
this deadliest pandemic in a most convincing way.
We, yet again proved that members at Apollo would raise our standards and come together to fight the impact
of the pandemic. During this journey, we continuously shared our resources, experiences and lessons to the
entire community. However, COVID 19 is still around showing the world that it has not gone anywhere.
As an endeavor to make our fellow Apolloites appraised on the developments of COVID 19 , we are releasing
the updated version of this manual which has been designed to guide, assist, prevent and protect the
members of our large Apollo Family against the pandemic and ways to continue our lives beyond COVID 19.

Vaccinations
Vaccination for COVID-19 is voluntary. However, it is advisable to receive
the complete schedule of COVID-19 vaccine for protecting one-self against
this disease and also to limit the spread of this disease to the close
contacts including family members, friends, relatives and co-workers.
It is to note that Vaccines are being administered only after the regulatory
bodies has given the clearance based on its safety and efficacy. Hence, all
the COVID-19 vaccines that receive license will have comparable safety &
efficacy. However, it must be ensured that the entire schedule of vaccination is completed by only one type of
vaccine as different COVID-19 vaccines are not interchangeable.
Persons with one or more of comorbid conditions like Cancer, Diabetes, Hypertension etc. are considered high
risk category. It is suggested that the member should be taking the vaccine to prevent from the adverse effects
of COVID 19 virus.
You may note that COVID vaccine will be introduced only when the safety is proven. As is true for other
vaccines, the common side effects in some individuals could be mild fever, pain, etc. at the site of injection.
States have been asked to start making arrangements to deal with any Covid-19 vaccine-related side-effects
as one of the measures towards safe vaccine delivery among masses.
Getting vaccinated may also protect people around you, because if you are protected from getting infected and
from disease, you are less likely to infect someone else. This is particularly important to protect people at
increased risk for severe illness from COVID-19, such as healthcare providers, older or elderly adults, and
people with other medical conditions.
Even if you have already recovered from COVID-19, it is possible, although rare that you could be infected with
the virus that causes COVID-19 again. If you were treated for COVID-19, then you should wait 90 days before
getting a COVID-19 vaccine.
Members can discuss with your respective unit staff medical officer or Infection Control clinicians if you are
unsure what treatments you received or if you have more questions about getting a COVID-19 vaccine.
Please note that you may need to update on this information constantly and organization is just extending you
the guidance to protect yourselves. However, it is upto the member to decide whether to practice or not to
practice the norms shared in this booklet. It is also to keep in mind that members’ practices should not be a
source of concern / infection for other members or their associates to get the infection.

What’s Changed
If you’ve been fully vaccinated:
• You should still take steps to protect yourself and others in many situations like
• Wearing a mask
• Staying at least 6 feet apart from others
• Avoiding crowds and poorly ventilated spaces.
Take these precautions whenever you are:
• In public
• Gathering with unvaccinated people from more than one other household
• Visiting with an unvaccinated person who is at increased risk of severe illness or death from COVID-19 or
who lives with a person at increased risk
• You should still avoid medium or large-sized gatherings.
• You should still delay domestic and international travel. If you do travel, you’ll still need to follow
CDC requirements and recommendations.
• You should still watch out for symptoms of COVID-19, especially if you’ve been around someone who is
sick. If you have symptoms of COVID-19, you should get tested and stay home and away from others.
• You will still need to follow guidance at your workplace.
