INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE STUDENT INFORMATION MANAGEMENT SYSTEM - SIMS

Please read this entire document before using the student information management system. You will need a
computer with the Google Chrome browser and internet access.

1. Open the Google Chrome browser.


2. Type http://ststephenscollege.edu.tt/sims-login/ in the address box and press enter.
3. Click SIMS LOGIN
4. Click on ‘Login as Student’, enter the following information, and click ‘Login’:
Student ID: 1682
Password: 22785
Note: Ignore the information about default password.

5. Select ‘Edit Student Details’ and fill in the information.


6. Press the TAB key to move between the boxes or click in the boxes with your mouse. DO NOT PRESS ENTER.
Pressing enter at this point will cause the data to be submitted and the registration form will close. If this happens,
you must go back to ‘Edit Student Details’.

7. Moving the mouse pointer over certain boxes will display more information and guide you about what is required.
8. If there is no data to put in a box then please leave it blank. DO NOT PUT N/A or anything of that nature.

9. You can enter telephone numbers anywhere there is a free telephone number box. For example, if the student is
living with a guardian and you want to provide 3 telephone numbers, then 1 number can be entered in the
guardian’s details and the others 2 can be entered in the mother’s details if no data is entered for mother. Do not
repeat a telephone number in different boxes.

10. Only fill in next of kin information if this is a person whose details have not been entered before. For example, if
the mother is the next of kin and the mother’s details have already been entered, then the next of kin details can
be left blank.

11. Click ‘save’ when you are finished. When you see the message that update was successful, click on ‘Main Menu’.
12. Click on ‘Student Details’ and ensure that all information is correct. If anything has to be changed, then go back to
‘Edit Student Details’ and click SAVE after you make the changes.

13. Change your password and WRITE IT DOWN where you will be able to retrieve it easily. You do not have to choose
a very difficult password since students AND parents must use the same password to sign into the system.
