TEST I. Directions: Identify the operations to be used in each situation. Write your answer on the

The word “total” signalled the operation addition is to be used.
Division 2. The number of members in a group if there are 5 equally large groups in
the class

The sentence imply the action of distribution hence further implying
division operation.
Multiplication 3. The total weight of all marbles if each weigh 13 grams.
Bigat ng mga holen kung ang bawat isang holen ay 13 grams ang bigat.
The word “total” signalled positive action, either addition or
multiplication would work but the best answer would be multiplication.
Subtraction and 4. The weight of the remaining marbles after your young cousin took away 7
Multiplication marbles.
Bigat ng mga natitirang holen pagtapos kumuha ng iyong pinsan nang
pitong holen.
The situation is similar to the previous item wherein only the weight of
each marble is given. This time, however, there is a “taking away” action
that also signals subtraction operation.
Division 5. An area of land shared equally by 3 siblings.
Lupain na pinaghahatian nang patas ng 3 magkakapatid.
The word “shared” signalled division operation.
