1. What is equivalent resistance? How do you calculate it for a series circuit?

The equivalent resistance of resistors in series equals the sum

of the individual resistances of the resistors

2. What is a voltage divider? How would a circuit designer create one?

A voltage divider produces a source of potential difference that is less than the
potential difference across the battery.
3. Three resistors of 25.0 , 30.0 , and 40.0  are in a series circuit with a 6.0-volt battery. What
is the current in the circuit?

4. Three resistors of 25.0 , 30.0 , and 40.0  are in a parallel circuit with a 6.0-volt battery.
What is the current in the circuit?
